First...And let me admit up front I may be way off here...But did anyone else notice that Wofford very much sold out to stopping the run on many 3 receiver sets?   Their nickel looked to me to be lined up well inside our slot receiver and first movement was to stop the run...So much so in fact that it looked to be something we could have taken serious advantage on a couple of occasions had we had some sort of visual check down between QB and slot.  Here's hoping future opponents make the mistake of under respecting the depth of our WR corps as well...

Second...I just wanted to publicly commend Boo yet again for exemplifying what College athletics are all about.  This kid CLEARLY cares deeply about his University, the community and most importantly the kids in the stands.  He stayed outside signing jerseys for the kids (my Son and Daughter among them) and handing out everything from his towel (which he gave to my Daughter who had honestly made more noise than any of the folks we sat near) down to his last sweat band.  This is something I'm sure many of you have seen him do on a number of occasions.  He then proceeded to walk up into the stands for the last portion of the post game 110 show.  I had a chance to thank him for taking all that time and he simply smiled and said "Nah...I was just like them when I was younger".  Boo is not only an exceptional athlete and leader on the field but a truly good to the bones kid.  The day Coach Solich made him a Bobcat, OUr program improved immensely for it...

I would line up inside our slot receivers as well, taking away the quick slants and getting in the passing lanes, especially in the zone schemes they were playing.

Yes, Boo is a terrific ambassador for Ohio University, he is not a show or fake, he genuine enjoys the interactions with kids and fans.

I have to say I was impressed with Boo's interview on BA as well. Very well spoken. He's obviously a sharp kid. Boo's going to be successful in whatever career he chooses after football is done.

What do you guys think about Wofford's  coach quote in their paper as well as after the game about outplaying Ohio and deserving to win the game -if it weren't for turnovers?  I think they played pretty well, but we really didn't try very hard to pass on them.    Most folks here think we played vanilla to not show much to upcoming opponents, I tend to agree.  I also think we just didn't play too well for whatever reason-maybe because it was Wofford who was so good.  I'm just not buying that.

Well.........I guess I will really get to see where the program is. I left the game Saturday hoping we were not showing any cards and still managed to accomplish some things. That said, I agree with some other folks here that the QB's were under pressure from the snap on most pass plays.

Are we that good to be able to approach the game that way? I am counting on it. I can't afford to be negative as it would wreck my plans for a very good season. Pass me the glasses!

Boo - first class! Was putting some heat (all in fun) on him after the game about finishing the job in Columbus. I was surprised to see how serious he looked in his response. He's not going up there for a school paycheck.

I met Boo in Athens this Summer when I was in town for my bachelor party. You could not ask for a better representative for Ohio athletics...just a great guy all around.

I, too, hope we were holding back but it's hard to imagine that when the outcome was seriously in doubt until late, late in the game.

Boo did a great job of controlling the passing game when he was not under pressure and looked improved over 2008 in that area to me.

Class act on Boo's part being in full uni and in the stands while the 110 did post game. Speaking of the 110 they completely nailed their opening half-time show. Unbelievable how good the show was and how much material those kids put together musically and marching formations in less than a weeks time. Very, very impressive.

Biggest thing that concerned me about the team's performance against Wofford was our inability to control their pass rush. That's probably going to be the smallest defensive front we will face all year. As previous posts mentioned before the Wofford game, injuries and grades have hampered what appeared to be one of our strengths(offensive line), into potentially a real area of concern for us.
