It will be interesting to see how students and fans come out with a big 3:40 tOSU game beforehand, as well as it being a night game and thus interfering with some students drinking plans.

I am personally cautiously optimistic that we might have close to a sellout, but I've also seen the ugly side of this university's apathetic fan base even when the team is good.

I voted "Less (fewer) than 18,000". Approximately 16,478 people will be there. Sorry I just don't see too many students and townsfolk going "Geez, I wish this Buckeye game would end already, OU kicks off in 20 minutes."

Those who will be there (and I will be among them) will be the ones who really want to be there, so I figure fan participation in the game will be similar to what was present for last year's NIU and Temple games.

We schedule our home kickoff times with OSU kick off times in mind. OSU-Miami starting at 3:40 really puts a scheduling conflict on the whole day. Do you guys think the athletic department would maximize its gate attendance by starting the football game at noon and bumping volleyball's game with Northwestern to 7:00?

This is actually a good question, and I wonder if OSU really will effect attendance or if it grabs our attention because we see the 100+ students uptown in scarlet and gray and packing BW3 cheering on the Buckeyes. Count me in the group who thinks we'll eclipse 20k this weekend, but I think OSU playing a high prestige opponent could tell us a lot about how tied to OSU our attendance actually is.

One thing you are not taking into account, is how we count

I wouldn't worry too much. Only a 30% chance at this point.

I'm feeling pessimistic regarding attendance due to weather and what's happening up north that afternoon....

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

Would it help to bump the kickoff time to 7:30 or 7:40? I think it might.

I've been lurking this site for over a year now. Finally felt the need to throw my .02 in.

Attendance was 23,000 for the Wofford game? at 7 pm? WITHOUT all students there?

Add students and a conference opponent, subtract weather and OSU game, I think attendance will still easily top 20k.

Welcome, and though I hope you're right. OUBob, I am in the pessimist's camp.  Last week = Band Day plus their families, frosh welcome party (see all those new OZone Shirts?) and a gorgeous day in SE Ohio.

This week brings upper class off campus parties with OSU football on the telly, no invited groups and probably no more UT fans that Wofford had.  Not to mention the possibility of rain.  I think 18, even 19K, is possible - just not likely.  I know I gave up plans to host a pre-game party and friends for the game due to their reluctance to leave their TV screens.

We've already moved the times around once for the volleyball tournament.   18,277.  One reason for the large Wofford crowd was the band day.

With the downgrade of the weather to 60% chance of rain, I'm changing to 15,500 folks actually at the game.

The weather models tend to predict conservatively and project the weather in advance of when it usually comes a few hours out. The rain may hold off until later in the game. Then also with the weather generally good outside of Saturday PM it should be buisness as usual for most people. It would be different if the forecast called for a 3 day soak fest, that would really drive people away. Tickets will be specially discounted for this game. Toledo always brings a decent crowd to Peden Stadium and the last 2 times we played at home the crowd was 20,000 plus so I don't think there is much reason to expect different this Saturday. No way the crowd is under 18,000. This is the first Bobcat game of the season for many fans and thus far we are undefeated.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

Onece we are averaging 85% of stadium capacity, we will need a new stadium. I hope it is on the drawing boards.

If someone would photoshop the picture of another level on the east side of the stadium you'd see a stadium that looks like Mississippi State's and one that could probably hold 35-40000.

Stadium expansion is no where near the next project for the football team.  Really what they need is to have an indoor training complex (huge recruiting tool).  Probably would be located in the land where the grass fields are and that small parking lot, we would though have to try to keep at least one grass field for the team to practice on for road games at places with grass fields though.

Agree on the indoor training complex....but wouldn't it be neat to have a stadium like this.....not sure if  we could fill it....but it would still be pretty cool:

On the weather forecast, WSAZ appears to be more optimistic about the rain holding off.  For Athens, they are saying pretty nice until about game time, then very cloudy and a chance of showers...but they seem to think there is a real chance the storms will be very scattered and could miss Peden.

OTOH, WTAP in Parkersburg is saying 60% chance of showers as Alan mentioned.

It doesn't appear that anyone is predicting a steady downpour during the game.

It's really hard to predict attendance with an uncertain weather forecast, but I'm going to predict a smaller than normal walk-up and tickets sold being 18,043, with actual being about 15,500.

Over 18,000? Yes. It's a Saturday night in the heart of college football country, when none of the other local teams are playing.

Over 19,000? Ehhhhhhhhhh.....

50% chance of rain at Kick-Off and 19,315 butts in the seats at Peden.
