Ohio University’s Central Ohio Chapter Network and the Ohio University Alumni Association plan to host a variety of events themed around the highly anticipated OHIO vs. Ohio State University (OSU) football game, which will kickoff Saturday, Sept. 18, at noon. 

The festivities begin Thursday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. with Ohio University’s Central Ohio Chapter Network’s OHIO vs. OSU Alumni Challenge: Food Drive for Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

Ohio University alumni are encouraged to wear their green and white and bring as many canned goods or other non-perishable items as they can to Park Street Patio in Columbus for donation. There will be a box on stage for each school and the school with the most boxes of food by 10 p.m. will win a Happy Hour Party at Park Street Patio.

A prize of a Happy Hour at Lodge Bar in Columbus will be awarded to the school with the most alumni present and there will be a variety of alumni-themed challenges throughout the night.

Friday, Sept. 17, Ohio University’s Central Ohio Chapter Network will sponsor the OHIO vs. OSU Pre-Game Jam at the Lodge Bar in Columbus from 5:30 to 11 p.m. 

The pep rally hopes to draw a crowd in the thousands and will have lots of entertainment including the alumni varsity band, cheerleaders, Rufus, games and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.

The weekend’s events come to a close with the Ohio University Alumni Association’s Bobcat Bash, to be held Saturday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Harrison House Apartments in Columbus. The Alumni Association advises attendees to dress appropriately for this tented outdoor event. 

It will feature all-day entertainment in preparation for and during the game with a DJ and band as well as provide a place to watch the game on big screen TVs. Tickets are $50 in advance and $75 at the door and include unlimited food and beverage for the event. To register, visit ohioalumni.org.

Both the OHIO vs. OSU Pre-Game Jam and Bobcat Bash will include remarks from Ohio University President Roderick J. McDavis, Athletic Director Jim Schaus and Executive Director of the Alumni Association Graham Stewart.
