So Ohio State stole / "was inspired to recreate" a lame and partial word formation from the University of Michigan.

Rufus is no better.

It was the 80's. Ligaments were mostly anonymous.

Think of the decades long shame and embarrassment this incident brought upon the University of Michigan. People just stopped laughing at them last week.

They were dangerously close to keeping the laughter going.  They beat UMass by 5.

I guess they were trying to join their own fraternity again.  You know, the fraternity of ranked teams losing to I-AA schools.  Right now it's them and Virginia Tech.

In other news, we should stop playing football altogether because of the risk for concussions.

I've seen crazier things happen.

In football even that tackle would be a penalty, quit confusing and inherent risk v. an act of stupidity.

I hate to nitpick, but how would that tackle be a penalty?  If it was a block it would clearly be a penalty, but I fail to see how it is an illegal tackle.

On a side note, why can't anything be funny?  Public humiliation of an anonymous person in a suit is this generation's college prank.  A mascot fracas is no different than my parents stealing the other team's goat before the big game.

Seeing how the mascot doesn't have a ball that would be a penalty, a 15 yard foul.  So tackle is the wrong verbage.

Has it taken some of you 12 years to realize when it comes to the public image of Ohio University I have no sense of humor?

I'm assuming either Brutus fumbled the ball out of his left hand or the ball is inside his head.  If it is a chop block, then you are right and it is classless.

That would be just a good old fashioned clip.  A chop block is when two or more players are engaged with an opponent and one hits high and one goes low.  Good point, he may be hiding the ball in his head.  What I like about the Michigan picture is that the offender is identified as a "Letterman", well I am pretty sure Bo's teams were taught better than that.

I love Brutus's surprised look on his face in that picture.  The discussion comments on the Michigan blog said the "letterman" in the photo was a diver.
