OK fine...I'm in!

Bring on the Terd!

Speaking of Mascots...Theirs crossed the line years ago when he and a couple Cheer Leaders decided they were going to ring OUr victory bell.

As far as I'm concerned...Being responsible for an 0-4 start for them (and sending them into a tailspin for the season) would more than make up for the game against they who shall not be named...

Damn it, it's in my head and I can't let this go without a rant now.

Growing up in the Huntington area (but definitely on the correct side of the River), among almost entirely Marshall fans (you don't know the horror of looking forward to seeing osu fans for a break from insanity), I've heard all my life about Sons of Marshall, the plane crash, Heaven's Herd, Ashes to Glory, the miracle win against Xavier, and on and on and on. And I've also heard about how annoying, classless, and disgusting WVU fans are, and how much better Marshall fans are, since they have learned from that adversity what really matters in life, the proper way to act, and on and on and on. Basically, the thought fed to you from the moment you can comprehend the words is that Marshall is a championship program not despite the plane crash, but because of it.

I used to be ok with that. Then I heard the whistle in Detroit. Then I heard it again. And again. And again. And again and again and again and again. And I didn't see anyone on their side do anything to stop it. I didn't read one word about it. Total disrespect for the game that they love so dear and take so much pride in, and not one person would be responsible and step up and say, "Not here, not now, not this level."

Pride. Class. Resolve. That's what Marshall's fans claim their program to be about. It's what they want to be about. But that whistle killed all credibility in my book. All it would have taken is one person, one TRUE Marshall football fan to say something. But no one did. That silence was and still is deafening.

Go Bobcats.

The thing I noticed is that the Marshall players were unaffected by the whistle, like they knew it was coming.  Makes me wonder if it was on the sidelines and not in the stands.

The whistle is an act that stands out to me as the most classless display of unsportsmanlike conduct I have ever seen.  While it did not occur on the field, it clearly affected the game over and over again.  If I was a Marshall fan, I would be ashamed that nobody pointed out the offender.  From what my friends that are season ticket holders in Huntington say, this is a normal activity in Joan Edwards.  If this does, in fact, happen again Saturday night, Frank Solich would be within his rights to pull the team off the field and board the bus.  I will never condone cheating and would be in favor of taking an extreme stand against it if Marshall University does not.

Marshall fans think they're classy because they compare themselves to WVU fans.

However, they have gotten a Fiami coach taken off the field in handcuffs, so maybe it's not all that bad.

Key note to that story is Marshall staged the press box photo's to make the damage to help their cause.  Marshall is my rival!  I dislike them more than any other school in the nation.

If the whistle shows up again, the one thing our guys CAN'T do is pull up and stop playing early. And if that means their QB or RB gets hit HARD after a whistle that may or may not have been blown from the stands...oopps
