An assumption (which is less worth anyone's time than 'a fact' -- but here it is, anyway): If you are already floating around in the same receptacle as the worst team and you lose to that designated 'worst team,' you then have a strong case to inherit the collar as 'worst team.' A conclusion: Win or lose, Mr. Hankey is an appropriate unofficial mascot. An observation: With the exception of their season-opener, the A&M boys have nothing worth talking about on their 4-0 resume ... and their current Strength of Schedule is 107 (OUrs is currently 65, thanks in large part to them!). MAC teams always have stronger S.O.S. early in the season when we load the money games, and then our S.O.S. will fall quickly in MAC play.  Big 10/SEC/Big12, they all go in the opposite direction, start weak and then get stronger in league play.  "Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half." We are in a lousy conference 2. We are one of the reasons we're in a lousy conference. 3. Other conferences we would join would already be lousy enough without our lousy having to add to the misery. 4. If the rumors of Villanova trying to make the jump to the Big East in Football are true, we should be looking to take their spot in the A-10. The writing is on the wall for FBS schools of our level. Right, with the underlying point being, perhaps it's a bit early in the season with only 1 MAC game played to be talking about how we can't win consistently in the MAC. I get the disappointment, and the team certainly hasn't looked incredibly good, but come'on.
