This was the first Ohio game I ever attended.  In fact, I still have the program.  Slingin' Sammy Shon was OUr QB.

We need to get UC on the schedule. We should give up a home game is Athens and play this game at Paul Brown with us being the home team. Can any one explain why we haven't played them in 30 Years ?

MIght have been Mom's weekend as my Mom was there.  It was my freshman year and I remember the game was not really as close as the score was.

My understanding is that we have turned down proposed home-and-home series with UC, as Solich only wants to play cupcakes out of conference (aside from the one requisite money game per season)...

Flomo, that's really disappointing to hear. However, I'm not surprised per our future football schedules.

That would be a great deal for us to get a home-and-home series with a Big East team.

They don't even want to play Miami anymore-a much more logical series IMO.  No reason to play us either.

140 miles from Cincy to Athens...it's hotbed for good high school football...why would we not TRY to schedule them?  I agree, now they don't want to play a MAC team (even Miami) but what was the excuse for the past 25 years?

We seem to recruit Cincy pretty well and a lot of our students used to be from the area so playing them seems to make sense.  It's also an easy trip for Ohio alumns.  And, if we can get theosu on our schedule, I gotta believe we could get the bearcats if we tried!  After this year, they may even change their scheduling philosophy too.

Nippert Stadium sells beer, I need no more reason to schedule the Bearcats!

Cincinnati stopped playing us in the early 80's when they decided to make a push toward major college football. They began to schedule up as an independent at that time and used their basketball program to get into CUSA and now the Big East. Tom Boeh in the 90's offered UC a 2 for 2 series but they said no thanks to playing in Athens. UC didn't see what playing our program would do for them as we offer no recruiting value. Ohio should look more at another non-AQ series against a school with a peer budget like Navy for a home-home. I kind of see the Marshall series like our version of the backyard brawl. As the schools improve on the field it could really be like TCU/SMU with crowds over 35,000.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

It was Kelly who didn't want to play Miami any more at Oxford.  Now he doesn't have to worry about that because UND is not going to Oxford any time in the foreseeable future.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I never heard any thing from the UC AD or prez that indicated they agreed with Fat Head Kelly.
