Good for today's W over EMU.

But that's over and we have to continue to improve.  Tough, important contest coming up next weekend at Peden.  In the balance, at least, are our MAC prospects for this year and recruiting effect from how recruits see us.

I'm usually not the Debbie downer, but this team really isn't easy to watch.  They'll need to play their best game of the year to beat BUGS and I'll be making the trip to Atown from Beantown with Mrs. DA to see it in person.  Prove me wrong men, squash the BUGS.

And Love, you are conspicuously absent.  I'm actually missing reading your rants!

The Few, The Proud, The Bobcats!

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

Let's hope that this week we get back to the things that are Bobcat football

get takeaways and don't give it away,

offense playing with confidence and passing the ball downfield (well, 15-20 yarders and the occasional long ball mixed in with those four yarders),

use of tight end (we got a good 'un),

domination of the first and fourth quarters, few penalties.

And a couple of things that we are capable of but haven't show or haven't shown consistenly:

power running game (we like Davidson, Brown and Boykin),

holding the oppo to under 10 points.  Haven't seen this in a while.  Let's be a defense like 2006.  Regardless of what the offense is doing, let's play it so we can win because we give up so few.  Plus our offense is better than 2006.

Go Bobcats!

If I'm reading this early line correctly, Ohio opens a 10 point favorite?  I don't bet sports, and even if I did I wouldn't bet against Ohio on principle, but if neither of those things were the case I might very well be all over BG +10.  I think Ohio will win, but I'd put the odds highly in favor of a four-quarter contest decided by a TD or less.  BG is a decent team.

He (Schilz) was out against Buffalo. But going in, I think there was a chance he could play. So not sure of his status for next week.

Ah, okay.  Though the back-up was the guy who led BG back against Marshall (he came in with the game tied at 28, BG went on to win 44-28).  Add in that Ohio has its own weapons dinged on both sides of the ball, I still don't understand the -10.  I bet it will end up settling at something more like Ohio -6.

How 'bout their schizoid defense?  Next to last in 1A in yards given up (511 a game, about even between pass and rush) and near the bottom in points allowed (36.5), BUT they have 11 INTs, tied for second best with Bama and Oregon and one behind Florida.  Franshaw really needs to read the D.

Come on guys. You need this one. A guy at work has a daughter going to Ohio(journalism) and this will be his first MAC game. I am trying to convert him from being a fan of the evil Illini/Big 10(he went to Uof I) to Ohio/MAC Make it a good one.

Vegas set the Buffalo line with him listed as a probable.

We also need the return of the big plays we make, those 25+ yarders.

Home game.  Mark that home field advantage.
