Two good drives aside from having to settle for a FG on the first, wish the last drive at the end of the half could have been better, unfortunately our line just doesn't hold well which you can tell by how much Boo has been running.  Very impressed with his improved runs this week.  Defense and Special Teams could be better, you especially can't give up a 32 yard fake punt.  And as always Terrance McCrae is the man!

Offense looks real good we just dont have too many points to show for it. Eastern D is playing better than usual i think but if we keep controlling the TOP then we should wear them down and score some more points. It makes you wonder why boo wasnt the man to start the season we would have a totally different record. If bates were playing this game we would be down 10 to nothing. Good call on starting boo. Go Cats.

Our goalline O still sucks. It would be 10-6 if EMU hadn't had 2 penalties on our TD drive. Damn you, Kenny Ashley!

And we still don't have any passion on D. For God's sake, SOMEBODY STEP UP AND LEAD!!!

I don't think the record would have changed much, Boo played a lot at Toledo (3 INTs) so the only potential change is the Marshall game (where Boo still played quite a bit).

Any case, I agree 100% that Boo is playing very well today and I expect Ohio will torch Eastern in the second half, throwing 20 times or more.  The Ohio D should be alright, aside from flukes (fake punt, bogus roughing the passer penalty -- that may be the softest roughing the passer penalty I have ever seen in all my years of watching football) they've been able to bottle up Eastern.  That fade Eastern executed was a thing of beauty, but I dare them to do it again.

Special teams, especially special teams D, needs to be better in the second half.  Start them on the 20, not the 40.

- Jay Edwards and Steven Jackson have been everywhere on defense.
- On 3rd and 5, Ohio is running a crossing pattern.
- No pass rush. Stafford Gatling has been relegated to standing at the line and trying to bat a pass (and fortunately he did).
- Snaps are an adventure.
- Haven't seen Brazill since he hurt his finger, offense has a different tempo when he's in there.
- Calling a TO right before half to try a Hail Mary wouldn't have hurt, would it?
- KO return coverage has declined severely from recent years
- Davidson just not capable of breaking off any big runs (line hasn't been great but there have been some holes in the first half).

Uh, yeah, it kinda woulda been nice if the coaches had a clue as to who should've been starting qb from play 1.

Why do we run pistol on first and goal from their 4 (instead of under center).  And, I presume that we only had one running back.  That situation calls for qb under center and two running backs on first down.  And, isn't that how we got the first down near the goal line before the lob td pass against columbus?!

We just arent' very good.  Too many penalties.  Defense inconsistent.  Seems like Boo is trying but no one carries/leads us.

One of the year's goals was plays by the offense over 25 yards.  We ain't got many of those.

Would it hurt to have a bigger/thicker running back--Brown, Boykin--occasionally?

Well, Eastern got a bad roughing penalty on the first Ohio TD drive in the second half (not quite as bad as Ohio's, though), which evens it up a bit.

And then on the next TD drive, Eastern #40 is allowed to take three steps after the throw and smash his helmet into Boo's face, and no flag?

What are these refs looking at? 2 roughing calls and Boo gets clobbered? I am with
catatonic.

Offense moving now. I like what I see.

Although I'm glad to see that we're beating the worst team in the country, I'm more pleased that Boo is getting significant game time reps. If we can get Boo performing at a high level, with confidence, next week against BGSUcks we might have a chance to make a run at it this season. Theoretically we're on track to repeat last year's record. Realistically.... we'll see. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

that INT was rough i thought it was going to be a good catch for us and then it ended up in the other teams hands. EM def is not very good at all, but they are playing way better than the last ranked team in the nation should be playing...imo
