Dunlop and Bussey and Foster  (and Brazill?) should make up a decent nucleus of receivers next year. And I don't mind Temple losing. It gives us room for error as long as we beat Temple. Of course, I don't want to see any letdowns anyway. (And the timing was perfect, as this was the only time we could make it in to Athens for a game.) Play this way and we can beat anyone in this league, even without Keller and Brazill. I think some of the yards Bowling Green got were against Ohio's starters, but I think it was in part because the Bobcats were allowing them to move the ball a little at a time. Bowling Green's first touchdown was on a 20-play, 11-minute drive. The only way BG could get back in the game at that point was with a couple of quick strokes, so the Bobcats were playing to not allow that. Herman and Flading are back to last season's form and I was really impressed with what Lechner and Strum are doing on the left side. Those guys are road graders. This was the first game in a long time that I've seen Ohio totally control the line of scrimmage on offense.  We were literally blowing them off the line on nearly every play.  Let's hope this keeps up and the OL continues to improve.  Go OHIO! Best performance of the year so far.  Bobcats now control their own destiny after today.  Bobcats have three tough road games at Miami, at Temple and @ Kent State.  We must go unbeaten at home and need atleast two of three from the three away games. We back to 3-3 and now much finish strong in second half of the year. Cannot believe there are not some comments about the awesome display of Phil Bates.  Take away his 62 yard run and he has 80 yards on 10 carries--8 yards a crack!.  I'll let you guys do the math to see what his average was including the long run.   Before today he was averaging 6 yards a rush basically in 3 partial games against Wofford, OSU (now number 1 in the country) and a half against Marshall.   When have we ever seen anything like this guy?  Several orange jocks were hung out as he perfectly faked a run which allowed Foster to get wide open and then pulls back to slip him the leather for a big gain.   The MAC's version of Touchdown Tommy Fraiser in Athens!  Go Bobcats! Back to Top Bobcat36 General User Member Since: 1/5/2005 Location: Delaware, OH Post Count: 1,167 Status: Offline     RE: Big Day for the Bobcats    Posted: 10/11/2010 10:07:43 AM  And more importantly (IMHO) he seems to be happy sharing the duties with Boo.  He is one serious threat from virtually any place on the offensive side of the ball.  I for one am elated at both their comments after the game.  Phil clearly understands Boo is the emotional leader on the O and both obviously know how dangerous we are when they're both on the field. For those of you looking for someone to take the reigns, you need look no further than Boo being the first one out there slapping helmets as the D came off the field after that monstrous stop.  You won't find anyone more invested in Ohio's success than Boo.  He crossed the country to be a part of something like this and you can tell that Athens is a true second home to him.  It felt like the lack of someone stepping up and taking ownership of the leadership role on O was hampered by the politics behind Phil's transfer but judging by both of their reactions post game, it's clear they accept their respective roles and both see just how volatile we are that way. This is a solid team in every aspect even with all the injuries...Like I've said previously (with the exception of the A&M game) a couple of bounces and ill timed injuries was all that was holding us back.  OUr boys are now brimming with confidence for good reason. Tons of credit to be given all around but lets take a moment to recognize Coach Albin too since he seems take a lot of the blame.  Given a solid performance from the line, he can clearly make things happen with the outstanding resources he has at his disposal!    Let's go get us some Roo!   GoBobcats!!!!            Always have been and always will be...
