How did BG beat stupd cow?

We're doing what we need to win, so it's good.  Keep it up defense.

But our offense feels a little gimmicky.  I don't think this stuff works against good teams.  I'd like to see more straight ahead power runs.  Davidson's bringing it but I'd still like to see Brown and Boykin a bit.

And having our passer, Franshaw, run it a lot is a recipe for injury.  That is not wise at all.

Monroe, Sir, please take a look at what the best teams are running. The Ohio offense is not your father's Oldsmobile, it is better. Please stop thinking you know more than these coaches. Today you can not hide your QB. You have to play 11 on 11. The defenses to come will have to account for Boo/Bates. Stop asking for your father's Oldsmobile.

This new offensive scheme is brilliant.  It keeps the defense on its toes and off its game.  There are so many variations that they can run from these formations that it can confuse even the best defense.  Have faith Monroe.  I think we are starting a long winning streak.  We've got the BIG MO now!

Both QBs did not play for an entire season so it is not surprising that we got off to a bad start.  In the post game Bates said he is still not 100%. At 80% he has the potential to be very special. I can’t wait to see 100%. Boo is playing his best football in terms of ball control. This combo is going to be a handful for any MAC defense. Playing EMU, BGSU and Akron could not have come at a better time. Foster is just what the offense needed without Brazil. Plus, Harden should be available if needed.

The Killer B’s = Boo and Bates = Trouble for any MAC defense

No denying that we're looking a lot better now, that experience seems to be in our favor.

But look at the combined records of our opponents overall.  And especially the last two.

I imagine that the points given up by our opposition--again the last two especially--might reveal that everyone looks good against them.

Running Boo puts him at risk of injury.  Then, the passing game?!

But that's the nature of MAC football.  You have to beat the teams with losing records in order to avoid being one of them.  Look who we have coming up (except for Temple): Akron 0-6; Miami 3-3 (about to be); LALaf  2-3; Buffalo 2-3; Kent 2-3.  Oddly enough, OU now boasts (or will after Miami loses tonight) the fourth-best overall record in the MAC, and is only one game behind NIU and Temple for the best record in the MAC.  That's why you don't see the MAC getting votes in any national poll (Temple will lose its one vote in the USA Today poll).

Miami is being Humiliated by Cincinnati who is looking to get their first non-FCS win of the season. We should be favored in every remaining game except for Temple. As weak as the MAC appears there are already wins over The Big East, Mountain West, Conference USA and multiple road wins over the Big Ten.

Monroe, you obviously haven't been watching our games against Marshall.  Just like the bowl game we came out flat in the first half then in the second half caught up without letting them score.  This means had we played Marshall with that intensity for the entire game we would have killed them.  For those of you who were never at these games to see this stuff, do not talk for you know not what you speak of.  I was at the bowl game, I saw what happened, we played flat instead of them being superior.  I watched the game on TV for this one (yes I know I wasn't there, but my friends who did go say the same thing I am now), we looked flat as opposed to outmatched.  We didn't lose to stupid cow in that game, we beat ourselves.  Get over this notion that we suck.  Yes we lost a few games we should have won this year, but that doesn't mean our doom is written in stone yet.  I refuse to believe that we cannot make it until I hear the MAC officials say that we won't be going.  Until that happens, and even after (god forbid)...GO BOBCATS

The opposing team sucks!

I saw both games (bowl game last year, contest a few weeks ago this year) against stupd cow.  Woulda, coulda, shoulda, the fact is that we lost to a lousy stupd cow team this year.  Again, how did we lose to stupd cow when BG beat them by 16?!

Look, I think that we're progressing.  But EMU, BG and, coming up, 'kron is a three game stretch that has got to be one of the weakest 3 game span of opponents in college football history.  Look at the records and points scored/allowed of those three teams.

I think that many on here are too happy about the ability of our qb's to run.  I don't see our qb's as being particularly shifty/running back like.  They're good when the hole is big and they get up a head of speed.  But they can't create space on their own or power through tight spots--which is true of most qb's, of course.  So, today our scheme--play calling and execution and nice ball-faking--got our qb's some gaping holes.  I still say that this won't happen against quality oppo (which we don't face much more of this year) and that Boo is very susceptible to taking a blow that leaves him unable to pass.  That will hurt us.

Would like to see more of Brown and Boykin earlier in games.  And #88 can play.

What I would like to see is a little fan support of some players and coaches who are progressing in spite of a boat load of injuries. And Monroe, when Ohio gets to the 'quality oppo" and there are not "gaping holes" please don't come to say you told us so, if they are "quality oppo" they won't be letting anyone, in any set create "gaping holes."

Name two teams which are undefeated in the MAC East this year.
