Know what you are thinking, however Taylor has a ways to go, he has been inactive the past two weeks, this ought to help him get into uniform but things clearly are not on a fast track for Taylor.  Early talk is Tate is going to assume Moss's role.

On KFFL they are talking of him finally being active and the 4th receiver at best.

Will be interesting to see if Price gets some playing time, I see the main two receivers being Ben Tate and Wes Welker, then Julian Edelman, but after that who knows.

That's the question, the Pats have been carrying 5 RB's and only 4 WR's

They also talked about the good play of their TE as another reason for limited playing time.  They feel the three TE's have changed the offense for them.

Should be interesting as to what this means for Taylor.  The Pats hold the Raiders first rounder in next years draft, and I would have to imagine they are going to target A.J. Green.  With two picks in each of the first four rounds, they have plenty of ammo to move up if necessary.  Unless something big happens, Taylor is still at least behind Welker, Tate, Edelman, and Hernandez in terms of targets.  Add Green into the mix, and he's got quite a bit of work to do.

Do any of our readers have any good inside info from out east on how Taylor is doing, and what do the Patriots think of him?

Well he has been inactive for each game, so I would say his progress is at best on target (if they had slow expectations), to a work in progress.    More than anything this is a business, sometimes feelings and progress have nothing to do with decisions.

You can almost never base a receiver's progress on his first year, a very hard position to do well at right out of the gate, especially for any drafted 3rd round or beyond.

Pretty cut and dried from the Boston press:
  • Taylor impressed in camp but with their depth at WR (especially Welker being healthy for the start of the season), they have needed to sit SOMEONE at WR because of the sheer numbers at the position, and Taylor has been that guy.
  • Tate has impressed on kick returns and was higher on the depth chart, so Taylor didn't have a chance at PT through that role.
  • With Moss gone, Taylor may now dress, but he will continue to see limited opportunity with the focus now going heavy to incorporating TE's and the success of Danny Woodhead (who replaced Kevin Faulk as the backfield passing option) in the last two games.

The Few, The Proud, The Bobcats!

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.
