Great comment by Rob Cornelius as Bates finished his 60 yard TD run. I can probably count on 2-3 fingers the OU players in the last 20+ years with that type of smooth/easy blazing speed. I wish the highlights on ohiobobcats.com had a wider angle view. He was just running around and then away from everyone. Wow.

I can't count that high - 2-3 fingers. Indeed, I can't think of a single Ohio runner who could match the Bates package of size, speed, elusiveness and seeming effortlessness.

Nice play by Boykin on the TD as well. First, he chips the DE, makes him stumble, which helps give Bates the corner easily. Then you see him 40 yards downfield along with McCrae taking a safety out of the play.
