Dude played a great game yesterday for the silver & black. He was on the field for a lot of the second half and made a great play knocking down a pass in one-on-one coverage with Antonio Gates to seal the win. He also had a fumble recovery and 3 tackles. And I guess more importantly, he was on the field when the game was on the line. Here's a pic and an article on the game.

From coach Cable “I can’t wait to see this in the morning, but to me, I thought that guy really grew a lot today as a pro football player,” Cable said. “His coverage was so much better than it’s been. I thought he tackled well. He adjusted to some things.”

From an article on last Sunday's game.

It was what coach Tom Cable considered a coming-of-age game for Mitchell, had had partial responsibility for tight end Antonio Gates and held his own. He in fact broke up a pass intended for Gates with a nice play in coverage moments before the Huff-Branch touchdown.

“I really want to prove myself to people. I really want to prove myself to my teammates,’’ Mitchell said. “This was an opportunity to go against one of the best tight ends and football and shut him down. I thought I did a great job _ he only got one catch off me.’’

Sorry if this has been posted before or in another thread but I just saw this 5 min video of Mike Mitchell as a guest of the "Voice of the Raiders," Greg Papa. Not sure how he did vs the 49'rs this past week.

Mitchell had a team-high 5 tackles, forced a fumble and got credit for a pass defended. I saw the highlight of the forced fumble on SportsCenter and was pleased to hear his name.
