Since we have a lawyers only thread, I thought it would also be beneficial to get some doctors opinions about whether Boo should rest for a couple weeks because of the reported "mild concussion"?  Any thoughts?

Not a doctor, but to be precise, what we've got is a rumor of a possible mild-oncussion. First it was a (clearly incorrect) rumor that he had definately broken/fractured the orbital bones above or below his eye, now its possible mild concussion.

Does a Ph.D. count?

He's questionable so that we can monitor any concussive variables after examinations.

Stay tuned.

OK. It's obvious that we don't have any MD's on board.  Forget it.

I was reluctant to make a comment because I am not an MD or a DO and I didn't want to enter into this thread uninvited but since several uncredentialed others have replied I am no longer holding back. I am an RN who works with several doctors (and I personally know many others) so it is my expert opinion that after reading every single post I can determine that there is enough misinformation, rumor and conjecture to make a very non-reasoned decision. Since few facts are really known about his condition it is only illogical to state that he definitely will be fully recovered and available to play. Should any facts actually become known then I promise I will not let them get in my way.

Idk, from what I've been seeing Toledo has been making very big mistakes so I'm not too concerned.

The opposing team sucks!

I too watched most of that game and felt the Northern Tailback and QB made the Toledo defense look like they were wearing concrete shoes. Plus the Northern QB did a good job passing the ball when needed. Who ever plays them will have a tough time in the championship game.

The present Ohio team is NOT the same Ohio team that lost to Toledo.  We can play with Northern...

It is a damn shame that we are without our Q.B. for the biggest game of the year.  I'm out.

That's a bit of a premature conclusion...

I'm not a physician, but in a former life I used to play a D.O. on the radio.  I concur with your learned opinion.

The MD of Bobcat newsprint, word doctor Jason Arkley, points out in his twitter today that Boo says he is "100 percent," yet doctors held him out of practice today due to concussion concerns.

My personal take on this, not as a doctor nor one who plays one on TV, is that Boo might not get a shot against Temple. OUr docs have been extra cautious this year when it comes to concussions, probably for good reason. One game seems to have been a minimum for concussions this year. Perhaps the extra few days for the "bye week" will help get Boo on the field against the Owls, but I just dunno.

Point of note, currently OHIO does not have a team physician, that position was not filled due to budgetary constraints.  Ohio still has a team Orthopod, but he does not handle this type of situation and works out of Columbus, Pikerington, Dublin, and the outlying areas of Columbus.  So Ohio is now forced to use non-athletic minded physicians who are more inclined to treat grandmas than 21 year old athletes.  This makes a difference.
