So we haven't really talked about the furry one lately - is it just me or is the new Rufus scary good as a mascot?  Back hand springs, great crowd involvement.  He's a total riot to watch when he is walking around up in the stands.  If you haven't noticed yet you should take the time to watch him some.

That having been said, is it possible we have a hired professional mascot?  Imagine how embarrassed the Athletic Department would be if another student Rufus decided it was a good idea to fight someone.  We all know how much students like to make bad choices after seeing another one do the same thing.  To me it makes sense to not take that chance - and Rufus's new found awesomeness raises my suspicion.

Plus I think we need to start a new photo series of Rufus violence - Ill get it started with myself at Homecoming:

Or maybe they got someone who is trained. They have mascot camps all over the country all during the year.

But some of us have noticed it as well and it's good to see.

I noticed his new professionalism as well.  Whoever it is, they are doing an outstanding job.  I noticed at the start of the Delaware game, while waiting for the team to run out, a cheerleader was petting him and his foot was shaking like a dog's.  Good funny, off the wall stuff.

I've noticed what a great job the new Rufus is doing too.

Nice story about him here:

I've noticed, and mentioned it to a few people, who have all agreed. This Rufus is a really good mascot. Strange saying that, but it's true...

At the ULL game we noticed that Rufus had missed some push-ups after a TD.

We pointed this out to him (or is it a her) and he/she did the required push-ups in our aisle right in front of us.

Rufus is now being run by the cheer coach and unlike the marketing guys actually knows a little somethin' somethin'
