Rain does not always equate to a slugfest. See last night's MNF.

And the Linc has grass. Awesome! This is going to be a great game to watch.

Depends on field conditions, a sloppy field I like Temple's straight ahead running game and style.  A lot of our running game is predicated on stretching the field from side to side.

Might we finally see 4 full quarters of Boykin like we've been looking for?

To quote my father's (classes of '69 and '70 btw) all time favorite football cheer: Rah Rah Rah, kick 'em in the knee. Rah Rah Ree, kick 'em in the other knee.

Its not creative, its not lyrical, its not even remotely sportsmanlike, but it is a strategy that is resistant to inclimate weather.

Agreed JCW...But the ball carrier knows which way he's going so even at slower speeds has a slight advantage.  I'll take having more options 8 days a week.  I just feel like a one dimensional game is more to our advantage than it is theirs.  Kent proved their run can be stopped and OUr D Line is stacked with experience...

I know it won't be much fun to watch but honestly couldn't care less...All I want is a W.  I like this situation...A lot actually...

I'll let you know how it goes.  Delaware Bobcat, myself, the wife and a cast of maybe a dozen will fill the Linc that holds 68,000.  But I do agree Just get a W.

I'm told that the field is not grass.

From what I've found, it is 97% grass and 3% turf fibers to help make the surface more durable.

As I was looking over the weather forecast I began thinking about this could be a low scoring game and that it could come down to a field goal. This being the case the wind could become a real factor. Therefore I believe that if we were to win the toss we might want to pass on receiving the ball to start the game in favor of kicking it and to get the wind to our back for the 4th quarter.
I'm sure that Frank will do the right thing.

My impression is that every time we win the coin toss we elect to kickoff.  Maybe to get our D into it, maybe so we get the 2nd half kickoff??

Bad weather might hurt us more than the other guys as we have a better passing attack.

HMMM, the way I remember that is that the second line is more like:

... "something, something, something that rhymes with a$#, kick 'em in the other knee"  or maybe that was just my mother's inflection.

Either way, I agree!

No need to be concerned about a big crowd tonight. I would think there would be less then 10,000 in attendance. This figure does not include no shows. I've heard that the radio stations around there are trying to promote the game with special offers, good luck with that tonight.

Biggest reason to defer is #1 choice of direction, #2, opportunity to get back to back possessions in a game.

Just spoke to my wife who is in Philadelphia on business and she said it has been raining downtown all day.  Nice to have a wife working while I am on this board drinking a beer.

Here's how it went when I was in high school: rah, rah, ree, kick 'em in the knee. Rah, rah, rass, kick 'em in the other knee.

That's not how everyone said it?

The line has shifted from Ohio +7.5 to Ohio +10. That's a pretty juicy line considering the weather....

It may be a Knoxville thing, but that's how I heard it to. You from there originally?
