ESPNU announced on the Fiami-Akron game tonight that the OU game against the Golden Flushes will be on The U, with the time to be announced.  Are they changing the 2:00 starting time?

We will get by.

Any chance it could be changed to night game?  That's the only way I could watch it, as I'll be traveling back from Maine on that day.  If it's televised earlier, I may opt to have it DVRed and then watch it when I get home without having looked at the score.  Oh the self-discipline that will require!

11 am would mean a much earlier wake up call for me to get up and drive...shouldn't be a problem though.

Nope.  U has Old Spice classic all evening.  If we're on the U, it's at 11.

Gang:

We should know tomorrow (officially) whether or not the game will be carried on ESPNU or ESPN3 (.com). I believe the graphic shown tonight indicated that the game could be shown on either, which is true until a decision is made.

Thanks.

I have a funny feeling that this game will not be on TV. If this game was to decide the MAC East Winner then we would have a better chance for TV coverage.
Hope I'm wrong.

What are the other games that are contending for the slot? Are they any better than this one? Looking at the MAC schedule, it appears the other options might be Western Michigan-Bowling Green and Toledo-Central Michigan. Those don't sound any better.

If Kent State can win at Western Michigan, they'll be playing for bowl eligibility against Ohio.

Ah, clever.  Someone at ESPN went to their Executive Management Training Program.

All things are possible right up until someone (finally) makes a decision.

The games that day are

Ohio @ Kent State
Central Michigan @ Toledo
Northern Illinois @ Eastern Michigan
Western Michigan @ Bowling Green
Buffalo @ Akron

Starting off, the Buffalo @ Akron game is already scheduled for STO.  Terrible game, anyways.

Western @ BG is meaningless, so I'd strike that.

Then you have three games with potential division title contenders.  Central @ Toledo seems like a poor choice, given that Toledo doesn't control its own destiny.

I genuinely think it would have to come down to NIU @ EMU, or Ohio @ Kent.  Our game seems like it has a much better chance of being compelling (read: competitive) to me, and I would guess that would be the choice, unless they have solid data on ratings that would sway them towards the NIU game.

Regardless, I would think whichever of those two isn't on the U ends up on 3.

Just my guesses.

Dunno if you can trust Can't information, but their site is announcing that the game will indeed be aired on the U (oh boy I can't wait for another top knotch broadcast crew) at 11:00...

If they nationally televise Fiami-Akron, I would have hoped this wouldn't decide it.

Kent will also be playing for their coaches contract. Through a source is that Martin must win @western and against us in order to receive a guaranteed 1 year extension. If not its the end of the line most likely with the new AD

11:00 a.m. is a lousy, lousy starting time for a football game.

  We'll it's better than 11 p.m. for basketball.

Since I'll traveling, I think I'll set the DVR and then refrain from hearing the score until I get home and watch the game.  The last time I pulled that trick we lost a home game to ECU.  I sure hope I don't get a repeat of that! That's the only home football game that I've missed in over 30 years, except for my BobcatLove-like boycott of PapaL during his last season.  I walked out of the stadium in a game about midway through the season after some particularly bonehead play calling, and told my wife I was never going back to Peden until we had a new coach.

Yeah the Temple crew really sucked. I almost beer bottled the TV when they said Temple was a better team.....but since it wasn't my TV I refrained. Call me sexist but there's also something about a woman callin the game. I think I can handle woman officials better.....this must be poor choice of words night for me as handle may not be the correct vernacular.

"How to handle a woman?
There's a way said the wise old man . . .  "

Remember the rest of that, Doc?

"A way known by ev'ry woman
Since the whole rigmarole began."
"Do I flatter her?" I begged him answer.
"Do I threaten or cajole or plead?
Do I brood or play the gay romancer?"
Said he, smiling: "No indeed.
How to handle a woman?
Mark me well, I will tell you, sir:
The way to handle a woman
Is to love her...simply love her...
Merely love her...love her...love her."

Now I'm "leaning" toward having to find a sports pub that opens a little earlier since I plan to be in the stands at Can't  for the 11:00 kickoff.

Then on to Detroit!!
