Cats likely clinch the MAC East title on Tuesday. What a great way to celebrate by blasting Kent State the day after Thanksgiving. That day is also known as Black Friday and the cats can show up (seal) for the Doug Martin going away party after a decade of service between coordinator and HC at Kent State. Martin canned would make Solich the dean of MAC East coaches in tenure after 6 years at the helm. Bill Cubit did just enough to save his job this year and ties Solich in the MAC with 6 seasons under his belt Its sad for Kent really though because their program probably maxes out at the 6 win level and a new coaching staff will likely set the program back behind the Zips again.

The Temple game summary shows Vince Carlotta as a participant.  If he was, I'm assuming he'll play Saturday.

The line on this game has OHIO as a 4pt favorite.
What do these odds makers know that we don't? One would think 10-13 would be more appropriate.
My guess is that this line will be changing through out the week.

My guess is they're hedging until they see the result of Tuesday's game thinking it will take the edge off of Ohio.  While I would personally like to see us rest those we can if Temple wins (which I can't see them not with Dysert out) I know that's not the way Coach Solich runs things and not the way this team rolls.

If not for the late blooming identity of this team, we could EASILY be sitting at 10 & 1 right now.  These guys know how to win and are brimming with confidence...No way they allow a let down and back in to the MACC.

That being said, there's no room for taking Can't for granted...That Western game looks much worse than it was.  They racked up a lot of yardage but I really don't feel like they're a match for either of OUr lines at this stage.

Weather currently slated is snow showers...Smells like a replay of the Temple game last year...

Even if Temple beats Miami, I think a loss at Kent would really hurt our chances of a win over NIU. Momentum is everything.

I don't believe vegas is hedging - if they had two different spreads - the OHIO at kent game would be off the board right now - that is not saying that OHIO money or KENT money couldn't move the spread one way or another, but typically they keep a game off the board if they are unsure of something...

I'm not a betting guy (except an occasional friendly bet for a dinner or something like that, or the NCAA office pool), however I find this a curious statement.  They are always unsure of things.  That's the nature of betting.  They make their best estimate based on known factors like past performance, strength of schedule, injuries, momentum (sorry TB), etc., but they don't have a crystal ball and they do make mistakes -- every week.  They guess right much more often than they guess wrong, but your statement implies some kind of special insight that I don't think is warranted.

Here is the most recent example - http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Report-Vegas-yanks-Au... - vegas is in the business of making money.  They do their jobs well...

The line is now 3.
Vegas must have factorered in the coaching situation here.
I can't see any other reason for this small point spread.

Ohio needs to come out and punch Cant St. right square in the mouth and show them we mean business. Show the Dim Flashes why Ohio is the MAC East Champions. Let's get it done !

In regards to tonight's mildly amusing diversion which has no bearing on OUr game prep, who am I rooting for between sucks and temples?  O-H-I-O.

Ohio has to come with its full playbook buzzing and take Kent to the woodshed. Think MAC Title hopes. Think Bowl hopes. Think voters in the Coach's and Harris poll voters. Do it and do it with style. This team needs style points going into the MAC Championship game. See the example Boise set against Fresno last week and repeat it.

Yeah a bunch on the line.....including some major payback after last year's debacle at Peden.....Gman and I had to suffer through that one.

D-line and o-line will do some major "punches in the mouth" as Gman calls em.

I think one of the reasons that we have improved offensively in the red zone this year is exactly that kind of mentality for the 0-line. Herman and Flading and Lechner and Strum will punish your arse.

I wouldn't be surprised if the attendance is less than 10,000, and probably closer to 7,000 if they are lucky.

Having attended late-season games at Kent in years past, I'm thinking no more than 2,000 frozen fannies in the seats and perhaps 500 of those Bobcat fannies.  Including mine.

Things just got worked out and I will be coming with one of my kids and maybe some of their friends.  Long story short, called the Kent ticket office as instructed by OUr ticket office.  Ordered my tickets and before I even could ask, he volunteers that there will probably be more Bobcats then Flashes in attendence.  Then he added that when you are competing for a championship, you tend to show up better.  I take it that we may have as many as if not more in attendence then Kent.  Maybe we can hi-jack the stadium and turn it into "Peden North".   Cheer on OUr Cats as they open a can of whoop-a$$ on Kent!

So that I have this straight: Kent's players weren't good enough to keep Doug Martin's job, but now that he's gone, they're supposed to be better?

Nuh uh.  A beating is coming.  Ohio has been really good these last two years in East-sealing games.

If Kent was smart, they would try to market tickets to Miami fans, Pistons-Cavs style.

Then again, they Kent read or write.
