Kent still have ZERO drives, taking advantage of our mistakes :(

This statement was astute but only a half truth the other half should have been if our coaches are smart--which they weren't.

Temple would eventually win a game where they looked crappy as they just kept running the ball.  But their Coach, AG, said afterwards, "It wasn't a time to panic and just said that running would sooner than later pay off," and he was correct.  I felt that Coach Solich took that same approach against Temple and by the fourth quarter we were popping some very big gainers.

But today at Kent that wasn't the case.  The Coaches blew big time today and went away from the success that beat Temple and beat Miami.  The Bobcats NEVER tried to establish the run in the first half. The first hand off  to a tailback occurred on the 11th play from scrimmage.  The first 10 plays totaled 5 rushes and 5 passes.  Had the Bobcats not thrown a single pass and punted after 3 and outs the Kent offense  would have given us the ball right back--they showed little except when our foolishness awarded  great field position by the blocked field goal and sack in the end zone.  There was no need for all those sacks. That's what Kent is best at so don't try passing on them till you are kicking their tails with the run.  Army destroyed Kent and didn't pass.   Ohio is one of the top running attacks in the MAC and falls in the bottom half in passing.  So other than a quick pass to a wideout  which was open all day, why pass until you establish the run?  If you cannot  run then you lose--and what did we do attempting to pass and turning it over so often?  This sounds like hindsight but just look at what got us here and what Kent is outstanding at doing.  There should not have been a pass play that took longer than a second and a half to get rid of, other than that we should have ran the ball.

The fans may have been squealing why won't we pass but if we'd of ran every play the score at the half would have been no worse than 7 zip and perhaps 0-0.  The D wouldn't have been thrust into must shut down situations and hey even our fake punt would have gone for a first down as the play just before it was a sack and the extra several yards may have been the difference.

IMO the players showed up for the game but poor play calling, a very poor offensive game plan and a near total lack of QB moxy never allowed us to get going.

Boo does not through a lot of  hard bullet line drive passes.  With today's wind it was not going to be a good day for tossing it up to TMAC.  Kent was playing at home in their normal empty environment.  Its got to be tough to play on the road at 11AM in cold driving wind in front of a couple hundred fans.

Kent State's MVP went to either the Ohio Offense or Boo I am not quite sure?  Maybe we should take a poll?  I am sorry I am just very, very, very, upset and stuff.  I really need a girlfriend, but last time I did that my wife got a bit upset and stuff.
