GO BOBCATS!
ARE YOU KIDDING? They are guaranteed a minimum of $2million a year in bowl revenues from conference sharing even if they never attend another bowl game. Once you're in a BCS conference, you're set. Whether or not you're good doesn't matter, because your conference is guaranteed the BCS payday. Minnesota has sucked for years. So has Indiana. They've brought in almost $3 million every single year to NOT play in a bowl game.
A lot of the rationale for the Big East expansion has to do with the Big Ten going to 12 teams. For one its going to be increasingly difficult to compete with other BCS conferences on a 7 game conference schedule when all the other leagues are moving to 9 conference games. Further by adding TCU to the Big East and likely Villanova in football the Big East is protecting itself against ND leaving for the Big Ten. I'm glad to see that TCU was able to get an all sport offer from the Big East instead of football only like they did with Temple.
