With all the new job openings this offseason like every off season should we be a little worried that some Ohio coaches could be on the move with the recent back to back seasons of success. Remember the new ad at Miami Fl was the same ad that hired Solich to Ohio

Job Openings
Ball State
Louisiana Lafayette
Colorado
Kent State
Indiana
Miami FL
Minnesota
Vanderbilt
North Texas- Hired Florida Assistant Dan McCarney

Frank was actually hired when TB was still here.  While technically TB hired Frank, it was really McDavis.  McDavis was very active in the interviewing and the hiring process.   Frank never misses an opportunity to say how important it is to him to have support from the top. I heard stories at the time that Frank and Kirby didn't get along very well.  Not as toxic a relationship as Grobe & TB, but not a very warm and fuzzy one either.

The only MAC coach I've seen connected to any of the jobs is Jerry Kill in connection with Indiana.

Stewart Mandel of SI.com tweeted the other day he thinks Haywood would be a good fit in Indiana.

The Minnesota job is probably the best in the bunch. New Big Ten, new rivalry with Nebraska. A lot of good football is played in the Dakotas at the FCS level and a smart coach could make the Gophers into a top 20 team. Selling points are also Minneapolis and a brand new stadium. The Minnesota game can stay on the schedule as far as I'm concerned if they can turn it around.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

Really curious as to what I-AA level football in the Dakota's has to do with competing in the Big 10 in football?

Those Dakota teams were running off 10 win seasons and North Dakota beat Minnesota the other year. Think of how NIU hired Jerry Kill from Southern Illinios after he won several conference championships there. All of the sudden the top coach in the region is at your school and not the competitiors. Minnesota could bring a coach in and hire some strong assistants with experience in the region (like Tim Albin please make it so) that could really change the recruiting geometry for Gopher football.

Your inference is to FCS players and you state the quality of FCS football, FCS talent is not going to win a Big 10 title or the title of any decent conference in America.  Coaching is a different story, however you never said coaching.

Well now you know what I'm talking about. I wouldn't knock FCS talent either at some schools its pretty equivalent to FBS.

FCS talent is as good as a lot of FBS teams in the top of the depth chart, but you said make Minnesota competitive, no FCS school is competitive with the tops of your major conferences.

Let the ignorance continue...mclugas,Wes where do you get this stuff. We would be better off getting commentary on coaches' performance from a 5 year old. I am sure it makes you feel better about being you, but I am glad athletic administrators do not base decisions based on such information.
