Just wondering if anyone else noticed the irony of ESPN scheduling The Pony Exce$$, a documentary of the SMU Mustangs' death penalty in the 1980s, immediately following the Heisman Trophy presentation, won by Cam Newton?

I am one of probably not very many here to have a vivid memory of the Pony Express in its full glory.  That was a remarkable team.  I watched the 30 for 30 and it was mildly devastating to know how corrupt the whole thing was.

The worst part is knowing that in the pre internet, pre blogger days, this stuff was probably going on everywhere to some degree.  Cam Newton and Reggie Bush make headlines today for even thinking about violating NCAA rules.  Wow.  What a change this sport has seen in thirty years.

Reggie Bush did more than "think about" breaking NCAA rules.
