I was on a bus coming back from vacation so only saw the first 3 qtrs via scrolling play-by-play recap. And, I don't like criticizing indiviudual players as these are college lads, not pros. The coaches are fair game for criticism as they are paid. So:
HAVING A HEALTHY, BETTER ALTERNATIVE, DID WE ACTUALLY START A QUARTERBACK IN A BOWL GAME WHOSE SEASON STATS ARE 9 COMPLETIONS IN 23 THROWS FOR 1 TD AND 3 INTERCEPTIONS?
We have no playmakers. Well, we don't know how to use any if they exist on offense. And no one showed it all year on defense. Next year can be better as Keller and Moore will help. But we lose a lot of starters on the line and secondary on defense. We need to improve a LOT at every position.
It wouldn't bother me if we fire any of the coaches associated with our offense (play calling? any of us could do as badly as we've seen this year) or defense (hint: no quarterback pressure, no chance to win against good teams).
Really. We beat mighty Wofford. (Here we go: Monroe, they're one of the best FCS schools. blah. blah. blah.) We had seven games this year: Toledo, OSU, Marshall, Miami, Temples, Kents, Troy. We got destroyed in five of them. Unacceptable.
(Any game in which you start a guy at qb who's manifestly not a quarterback is, automatically, a destruction.)
We need to get a LOT LOT LOT LOT tougher.
Where's the band?! WHERE"S THE BAND?!
