The Columbus Dispatch finally did an article about my beloved Cats:

I told you in the "days leading up to the game"  There you have it.  But I am sure that is not enough for you, as you want a full time beat writer covering the CATS.

No......just a positive article would suffice.

They're waiting until tomorrow to write another article  as they're hoping someone gets caught drunk on Bourbon Street.

Not at all.  All we'd like to see is one positive article that doesn't have a plug for O$U in the same column.  The only time you see them writing an article that is solely about us is when it's negative.  That's all I'd like to see is just one positive article where we are the only ones mentioned every once in a while.

The opposing team sucks!

I agree that the columbus dispatch tries to put down OHIO or any MAC TEAM.  They don't want another OHIO  TEAM to share the spotlight with their beloved buckeyes.  I live in central Ohio and will never take their paper for that reason.
610 A.M. radio is even worse than the dispatch.  They really put the MAC Conferance teams down - especially if earl bruce is on - he may be the worse.  Listen to 97.1 FM - nit 610 A.M. for sports unless you're a buckeye lover.
GO BOBCATS!

You know 97.1 is the flagship home of the Buckeyes and owned by the same folks who own the Dispatch? I doubt they are going to be real positive about Ohio or the rest of the MAC either

It's interesting to hear that nothing changes in central Ohio.

Remember, Ohio University, as well as its regional presence, is in the Columbus TV and radio coverage area, as well as the Dispatch's daily circulation area. Thus it is logical to expect that the Columbus media should treat Ohio University as local coverage. And that does not mean equal coverage as tosu. No one expects that. But there is a long way to go from the current tosu coverage versus OU coverage of 99.5% to 0.5%.

There should be regular and consistent coverage of Ohio athletics. Athens is only 75 miles from downtown Columbus. In most other parts of the country that distance is "just up the road" and a major media outlet would always consider a D1 school that close as a local.

If you didn't know before, now you know why the Dispatch--and thousands of former alumni--do not spend much effort in following the Ohio Bobcats. Quite simply, they are bad. They are generally not competitive, and often lose their games by lopsided decisions. Even against little-known teams that have only recently entered the D-1 ranks.

It's time to wake up.
