5'10"; 214.  He ran for 86 yards on 27 carries for Fiami against MTSU.  Some of it could be contributed to the O line, but on several short yardage plays he took on D-linemen and linebackers one on one -- and sometimes one on two -- and rolled right through them.  Lots of power and determination.

And, oh yeah, 900+ yards this year and NO FUMBLES in 170+ carries.

Maybe youve been under a rug in columbus...have you not seen Ryan Boykin? Expect more carries for this freight train.

We might also need an offensive set which best opportunities the bulldog tank running ability.  Does the pistol with one running back who is set deep behind the line of scrimmage do this?  No.  It doesn't.  Try some under-center and/or two or three back sets.

Yeah, I know about him.  He has the size, but since he only had about 4 carries a game last season, it's not clear that he has the durability to be the big back.

Davidson and Harden ran all over Miami.  Everyone ran all over 6-7 MTSU this year.  Miami has zero offensive line.  Their QB was running for his life.  My Redchicken insiders say Dysart is still the guy and he has true NFL potential.  But even they are worried about their line and D next season.

We have Boykin, we just need to use him.If he gets faster, he has a shot at the league.

You can coach how to block and how to tackle, but, speed, now you are into an area Mr. Boykin probably has seen his peak in. I am sure he has run through speed camps since high school. I would be happy if he were to learn to block and break tackles enough to convert third to first downs.

He already breaks tackles and converts third downs.I never seen himonce go down after the first hit.He gained 20+ pounds since high schoolso he willget faster with training. He just needs to stretch and run. Look back at the first few games. He is a nightmare for opposing defenses.

I wish you guys would calm down. Boykins is the FUTURE. With Donte Harden and Ryan Boykins next year and ample backups the running game will be LOADED. Spoke with one of the coaches and they LOVE BOYKINS his potential is unlimited. They arent even looking to recruit running back this year for a reason. Im excited about these guys and also the wr's will be great if everyone stats healthy..Brazill..Dunlop..NGoumou..Bussey..doesnt get much better than that these guys will cause alot of problems with Tettelton throwing darts and Bates being a threat.

At the risk of sounding jaded, with a 39.1% completion percentage and 2/0 INT/TD ratio it seems that most of the "darts" Tettleton has thrown have been at the turf (a future all-star at lawn darts perhaps?) or to the other team's defense...  I like Boykins though.  Would love to see what he could do in an "I" with a good fullback.

Boykins has talent, but to call him an NFL caliber back is breaking with realitity at this point. As for Tettleton, at this time his stats speak for themselves.

We shouldstillsign another big back if there is good one out there. We definitely need to sign a QB, maybe two and not redshirts.

Back #1 and Back #2 were freshmen. Back #1 had 41 carries for 215 yards (5.2/long of 27) and 3 TDs. Back #2 had 40 carries for 143 yards (3.6/long of 20) and 4 TDs?

Which back was more productive?

(Hint: Back #1 is Ryan Boykin and Back #2 is Thomas Merriweather.)
