In his 'Ten things I think I like' segment 2(a) was: "a. You go, Mid-American Conference. On the Green Bay Packers' 53-man roster, the two conferences with the most players are the SEC (11) and the MAC (eight). Need to get more Ohio Bobcats in the mix"

Never would have thought the MAC would be that well represented on a Super Bowl team.

Wasn't the MAC an upper mid major conference when Fiami had Big Ben?

I think former Marshall center Doug Legursky played one season in MAC as well.

Haven't seen much pro ball this year.  Does Zombo play much?  He was a force against us.

Six MAC players on the Steelers (that would include Byron Leftwich, since Marshall was in the MAC when he played) but not Doug Lugursky.  Here's how the roster stacks up:

10 ACC
9 Big 10
7 SEC
6 MAC
4 Big 12
4 MWC
3 C-USA
3 Sun Belt
2 PAC 10
2 Big East
Others: Notre Dame, No. Colo. and Bowie State

Speaking of Peter King: In SI's NFL preview issue, he projected a Super Bowl matchup of ... Green Bay and Pittsburgh, predicting a 33-27 outcome favoring the Steelers.

Zombo played a good bit towards the middle of the year, when injuries were at their peak.  He has done well, especially consideringhis draft position, and given the Packers commitment to sticking with their drafted players, he has a chance to grow into an increased role.  You can never have too many talented linebackers in the 3-4.

As a die hard Packer fan, I have been advertising all year how MAC heavy we are.  It is great to see.

As one of several million owners of the Packers, I'm thrilled by this too.

I'm hoping that our coaches are making copies of that pie chart to show to promising potential recruits.  Seems to me it should be a great recruiting tool.  Go OHIO!

Back in 1997 when the were selling shares, I bought three -- one for me, one for my son, and one for one of my daughters; my other daughter wanted the $200 in cash instead.  What a poor choice.  I've never been to a shareholder meeting.  I must admit that I'm much more of a college fan than a pro fan, but as an owner I do try to catch the GB games any time I can.  BTW, do you remember the agreement you had to sign to buy shares? It had about ten things on it that you had to agree to do or not to do.  My favorite was the prohibition from buying another NFL team.  The other one that I remember had to do with gambling on NFL games.  Fortunately since I'm not much a gambler, and I don't have tons of cash, neither of these were hard for me to agree to.

Im not a shareholder, just my Dad, but I have heard of the restrictions. most important of which being you are only allowed to sell the shares back to the Packers and can't sell them to somebody else.  And I think they cap it so no one can own more than 5% of shares.  I'd like to be a shareholder, but stock issuances are rare and like I said, I can't just go by it from someone else.  The majority of the shareholders are in Wisconsin so you and your kids are a rarity.

CAn your father hand them down in an inheritance or do they revert back to the Packers? The whole Green Bay story is a neat one, especially in this day and age of professional ownership.

As I remember, just from memory, there are certain situations in which you are allowed to sell them (or give them) to another.  One I think is to a family member.  I think there were a few other exceptions, but I may be all wrong on this as I don't remember it too clearly.

Yes, you can inherit it from a family member.  That will be tough though, since my brother and sister are even more avid fans than myself.
