Just got back from Kroger.  Took me 10 minutes to find a parking spot and 30 minutes to check out (I'm in charge of dinner tonight and needed a few items that I thought we had in the pantry).  We're under a winter storm warning starting at 11 tomorrow so I guess everyone is freaking out and going to the store to stock up on groceries.  Amazing what the fear of 4 to 6 inches does to normally rational people.  That got me thinking.  If we can get the weather bureau to forecast 75, sunny and  a slight breeze for each of our home games against BCS schools this coming fall, maybe that will convince people to come to the game.  Worth a try.

The weather is a factor Alan but I would like to see some improvement in marketing. How about an OHIO day toward the end of the season reaching out to people across the state with corportate ticket sales? The whole "city day" marketing is stupid, make the last game of the season Hocking Valley night with all the majors at one time because its the last game that usually needs a boost. Homecomming, Band Day, Parents Weekend all work well to boost numbers. A couple more days like that at the end of the season are in order. I also like the idea of bringing the Burrito Buggy to Peden Stadium on gamedays and broader range of concessions to attract students to the game.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended
2010 97-83 win over Georgetown in NCAA 1st round
2012 45-13 victory over ULM in the Independence Bowl
2015 34-3 drubbing of Miami @ Peden front of 25,086

Or on the flipside, Alan, could we rename Peden to Kroger, then forecast a winter storm warning for the day after our home football games this season?

How about getting about 2 million from some benefactor and offering in the same season a million each to WVU and either VTech, Maryland or Pitt to come to town.  See what that does for attendance, recruiting and strength of schedule.

They just need to find 20 geezers over 70 1/2 with big IRA accounts who are able to pull out $100 grand tax-free for charitable purposes--better Ohio than the tax man!  They can even honor them at half time and have the 110 play them a special throw back song to their era; like say at the Tennessee game when Patti sang "How much is that Doggy in the Window"

Nickle beer nights would be good.  Really worked for the Indians back in the '70s.

That song was popular when I was in 3rd grade in 1952!  I remember one of my friends singing it in the Putnam Elementary playground.  Now, I guess, MC, that I make your geezer definition, but I'm not quite 70.5 yet and my IRA is not quite big enough to take a 100 grand hit, but I like your thinking! (I'm also too lazy right now to edit my previous run on sentence.)
