Probably limited to inactive involvement. They would be able to observe any new wrinkles introduced. Just need them healthy later. They are no longer in need of a receiving tight end.  Olyaie will not be returning for the next season, he wil graduate in the spring. A good O line allows you to use your tight ends as receivers.  2009-2010 began the year of the phase out of throwing to the tight ends on a regular basis.  They threw to them consistently in the beginning of the season, and by the last two games not at all.  Receiving tight ends are no longer in the playbook.  (I'll give them two passes per game next year)  They are used as another offensive lineman... not for lack of their ability to catch the ball but out of necessity.... to help muscle up the O line.  This past season saw virtually no passes to any of the capable tight ends... they were blocking the whole time.  Maybe this is why the running game improved this year.  Use the tight ends as blockers, throw to the receivers if you want to pass.  Back to Top Bcat2 General User Member Since: 7/6/2010 Post Count: 4,295 Status: Offline     RE: surgeries    Posted: 2/16/2011 9:26:25 PM  newb wrote: The game plan has changed from the 2008-2009 season.. remember Mooney and Carter?
