Which players have had surgery since the end of this past season?  Heard there was a herd.

TJ Carrie went under the knife a couple weeks ago. Should be ready to go full throttle next season.

How many of these players who had surgery will be able to particpate in spring ball?

Probably limited to inactive involvement. They would be able to observe any new wrinkles introduced. Just need them healthy later. Would be nice to have Bates, Thompson and Olyaie all involved in the summer work as they should be leaders making it worth while in the absence of coaches.

Olyaie's shoulder surgery went well,  the doctor said he would be ready to play in six weeks.  However, the offensive game plan at O.U has changed. They are no longer in need of a receiving tight end.  Olyaie will not be returning for the next season, he wil graduate in the spring.

Methinks we need a receiving tight end.

Also, I'm told that Doc Bobcat had surgery also.

Had a hand added so he can keep track of the W's this season.

newb, how has the game plan changed? Is Ohio looking to become the Wisconsin of the MAC? Three thousand yard rushers would be sweet. Well, I don't see Ohio ignoring the WRs on the roster.

The game plan has changed from the 2008-2009 season.. remember Mooney and Carter? A good O line allows you to use your tight ends as receivers.  2009-2010 began the year of the phase out of throwing to the tight ends on a regular basis.  They threw to them consistently in the beginning of the season, and by the last two games not at all.  Receiving tight ends are no longer in the playbook.  (I'll give them two passes per game next year)  They are used as another offensive lineman... not for lack of their ability to catch the ball but out of necessity.... to help muscle up the O line.  This past season saw virtually no passes to any of the capable tight ends... they were blocking the whole time.  Maybe this is why the running game improved this year.  Use the tight ends as blockers, throw to the receivers if you want to pass.
