Sad, but unfortunately not surprising after all the rumors around Athens during his coaching tenure here.  I only wish he would have been both the coach and the man equal to his QB talent.  Sad story all the way around, IMHO.

If a man with your connections doesn't know more about them than I do, I ain't gonna tell ya.  But they were rampant at the time.

I'm just glad I root for a program that doesn't pay its top football aide $277,000 per year. That's ridiculous.

Jason Grooms probably works his butt off, wouldn't have time for sexual harassment even if that was how he rolled and makes a fraction of what Cleve had going on in Austin.

There's something very wrong with big-time college football when a man in his position makes over $270,000. That is insanity.

And everyone complains about OUR athletics spending? Really?? Our paltry athletics budget is one of the smallest in the FBS. We're doing things the right way by keeping athletics in perspective. Those who seek to demonize athletics need to look at the broader industry for some real examples of wasteful spending.

Problem is they run less of a deficit and are way less subsidizes than we are. So who's doing it right, one could say they are paying market value.

The Texases and Ohio States of college football are why the market values of college coaches are out of control, and, in part, why most other schools are operating in the red.

Exactly. At the end of the day, they're spending 90+ million on an athletics program, while we spend around 18 million.

And while the Texases and OSUs of the world may turn a tiny profit, they're indirectly forcing countless other programs to operate in the red. I'm not just talking about non-BCS schools, the majority of BCS schools lose money and subsidize athletics heavily too.

Let's be fair, OSU does have one of the largest department in the country and has something like 34 sports (more than double ours, and around 3x more Student Athletes , and there are a good two dozen other schools who go with Texas and OSU.

I look at places like Florida State who currently has 11 sports on NCAA probation, and Alabama who pay $4 million dollars to a football coach and has 18 sports currently on NCAA probation.
