The report at OhioBobcats.com states, though, that "While the cheer team was hard at work, the Ohio University mascot, Rufus, was in class learning new moves and tricks for the 2011-2012 season! Rufus interacted and learned from several other mascots across the country. The mascots performed individual two-minute skits for the campers and on the final day performed a fifteen-minute routine for the entire camp. Camp is now a requirement for the mascots, as it is now part of the cheerleading program." As for the cheerleaders: They collected several honors, including a first place in the Sideline Competition for the large co-ed division.
