I'd feel comfortable with only two: Cincinnati won't cover, and UConn will.

I was at the UConn/UB game last saturday. I wouldn't be at all surprised if WMU wins this one. Certainly wouldn't bet on UConn to cover (well, I wouldn't bet my own money on it)

As much as I would love to see a butt whoopin' happen, I dont think the Bobcats will cover that spread.

Dont get me wrong though, I definately think OU will win, but 17 points just seems like a huge spread.  I am a little shocked it is that huge of a spread considering what we did last week with the turnovers and mistakes.

Thank goodness I am not an addicted degenerate gambler because if I was I, I would be having a hard time laying off this game and taking the points for the road dog.

My hunch on the others: Toledo with the points, Buffalo with the points, Fiami with the points (that makes me nauseas just typing that), EMU covering, UConn covering, Bowling Green with the points, NIU covering, and Oklahoma covering despite the enormous spread (they will make a statement for losing the #1 in the polls)

When is the last time the phrase "EMU covering" has been used? Especially with a two-score line against an FBS team.

That seems a reasonable spread.  Ohio pops 26 points on a Big East opponent with 4 turnovers that led to points for Rutgers.  The team averages 36 in scoring so the bookies would expect close to 40 pts again.  Not covering if we score that much means a year-to-date anemic Kent offense scores 3 TD's and a field goal against Ohio.

Now if the bookies figured last year's effort than Ohio vs Kent would be a pickem game!

Prediction: Ohio 37, Kent 16

Toledo (+7.5) (I don't know if they win, but that's too many points)
Tennessee (-28.5) (Buffalo sucks)
Fiami (+15) (I really wanted to pick UC, but sticking with my "don't pick against a home team getting points unless it's ridiculous" rule)
Eastern Michigan (-9.5) (Kron sucks)
Kent St. (+17) (Too many points given our struggles against them recently. But I REALLY hope I get this pick wrong)
Western Michigan (+3) (UCONN struggled to beat Buffalo. Western could/should have beaten a ranked Illinois team. If I gambled, I'd be loading up on this one.)
Bowling Green (+20) (I don't see WVU winning this one by 3 TDs)
Northern Illinois (-9) (CMU is really struggling right now. Another one I'd load up on if I gambled.)
Oklahoma (-37.5) (Almost a coin toss with that many points, but I give the edge to an Oklahoma team looking to make a point after dropping from the #1 team ranking)

Kent State is not that bad and we aren't that good to jusify a 17 point spread.  MAC games are gonna be tough and Kent St has beat us the last two years.  This game won't be very easy for us. Our secondary was torched by Rutgers and the entire MAC has film of that.  We played sloppy with silly fumbles and penalties. We are banged up a bit too. This is Kent St's 5th game under their new coach and they likely are getting better. Teams with new coaches often take tim and that is the case with Miami and Kent State.

Toledo @ Temple (-7.5) - UT, not TU win this one, I think.  Temple will come out flat after last week.
Buffalo (+28.5) @ Tennessee - UB covers
Cincinnati @ Miami (OH)  (+15) RedHawks don't have special black unis - lose big
Akron @ Eastern Michigan (-9.5) - a pillow fight - close, boring game
Kent St. @ Ohio (-17) - a butt-thumping, regardless of weather forecast - "we love football"
Western Michigan (+3) @ UConn - Broncos can't cover
Bowling Green (+20) @ West Virginia - BG scares them, but loses
Northern Illinois (-9) @ Central Michigan - NIU romps
Ball St. (+37.5) @ Oklahoma - Sooners let cheer team play Q4.

Ball State's gonna lay down because they realize they can do some damage in the MAC this year...Even though it seems like a ton, The Sooners cover...

WMU is really overdue.  They played some good games and lost.  I think they take this one against UConn.  For some of the same reasons, my money (if I bet) would be on UT over TU.
