Not at the top, but a contender.  Interesting.

Coach Grobe has shown at Ohio and Wake that he can rescue moribund programs and return them to respectability.  I've long wondered if he could sustain success if given an opportunity to lead a power program.

I clearly nailed the "nobody young and hot can take this job so we are hiring an adult" plan six weeks ago.

I was looking at College Football coaching salaries the other day and couldn't help to notice that Jim Grobe is now making 3 million over at Wake Forest. When Grobe was hired in by Wake initially the salary was around 500,000. There is no way he's going to Penn State with the type of money they have at a rich ACC school. Last month I mentioned Chris Petersen as an obvious HC choice at Penn State because the Boise job is never going to be anything more than a Big East level gig. Boise can like West Virginia did for years before it stay consistently in the top 20 but its never going to be a top dollar job with top 10 recruiting classes. Penn State has unlimited potential.

Penn State's potential in the short-run is very grime.  I think we don't yet really understand what all's going to come down in Happy Valley.
