I fear the Rutgers and CMU games most, but I have to go with my long term pick of undefeated. If the Bobcats do get to 13-0, they will most likely end up in the Top 25 even though they will probably not really be the 25th best team in the country, and may get matched into a bowl where they will be a definite underdog.

vs Gardner Webb - W (This one is a no-brainer)
vs Marshall - W (First test of the season but Bobcats win by at least 10)
@ Rutgers - W (Cats score first and never look back, DelBobcat is in the stands to experience it!)
vs Kent State - W (Sweet, sweet revenge)
@ Buffalo - W (What is Buffalo sucks?)
vs Ball State - W (In front of a big crowd at Peden as talks of Top 25 start to get thrown around in the local media)
@ Akron - W (Akron can't compete as their horrible offense is even more horrible this year)
vs Temple - W (Sell out crowd at Peden and the Cats win a close one to move into the Top 25)
@ Central Mich - W (The Bobcats almost lose this one even though they are clearly the better team. In the end our offense is just too potent and theirs is non-existent)
@ Bowling Green - W (They have zero rushing game and they'll already be beaten up by NIU the week before, leading the Bobcats to a decisive victory)
vs Miami - W (The Bobcats earn another mug (six in a row!) in this hard fought Battle of the Bricks)

Nothing against this team, but I always pick better than reality. I think there are 3 losses here, but I am not real sure where. We'll probably win the ones I have marked L but lose 3 of the ones I marked W making me a terrible prognosticator on a game by game basis.

Basically a year pretty similiar to 2006, 2009, 2010 with a weaker schedule. We are very fortunate to not get Toledo or NIU. We should be either favored or a close underdog in most every game.

Of course, I had them doing about the same last year. Still, I think this team has plenty of potential. I think they'll lose at least one nonconf game; if it comes down to Terd or Rutgers, I'd rather they beat the Terd. Besides, Rutgers is getting back to its old game plan instead of spread, hurry-up, so they'll be tougher than people expect. CMU worries me because there's the likelihood of a letdown after beating Temps and looking ahead to Fiami. BG will be a tough one too, especially if they're still in the hunt or have fired their coach. Remember, they were picked 5th by the MAC media, and the 5th place pick has been a consistent winner in the East. Go Cats!!!

What a difference several years make!!! Pretty optomistic bunch aren't we?

But I have to agree, I am pumped about this years team and see them reaching their goals..

@ New Mexico State - W- Close game for 3 quarters then Bobcats get a few big plays and win going away.
vs Gardner Webb - W- Definite win but see GW bringing their A game so close enough to hear a few grumbles.
vs Marshall - W-This is the year. Bobcats win big.
@ Rutgers - Which Rutgers team will show up?? OU in a very good game.
vs Kent State - L - Toss up game IMO
@ Buffalo - W- Beefs back to their losing ways as Ohio wins big.
vs Ball State - W- Another comfortable win
@ Akron - W - Ditto Ball State comment.
vs Temple - W- Temple seems to think they are "back" but from where who can tell. Ohio punishes Owls.

Kent – W (5-0) [sweet revenge and few more votes]
@Buffalo – W (6-0) [an unimpressive win and we receive less votes – board gets chippy]
Ball State – W (7-0) [a win on homecoming is checked off the to-do list – not yet ranked in any top 25]
@Akron – W (8-0) [an impressive win, but still not ranked]

If somebody had really made a case for why we should be better this year than last year, I haven't heard it. If we have any more injuries on the defensive line or LB (particullarly Keller), we are in deep doo-doo, we may be anyway. Can we stop the run? Not buying it. Can we pass rush? Not buying it. Will our running game be better this year? Don't think so. Granted we have very good kickers, a very good offensive line, very good receivers and our defensive backfield has lots of potential. But we have some pieces missing IMO. Half full for me so 6-6 or 7-5 sounds about right. I'll sit back to get my waxing for being so negative. We can discuss again after the season when we can look at the results. And boy do I hope I'm wrong.
