The fan remarks after the story are interesting, too, including this one:

"I think the Callahan era went a long way to teaching Husker fans to appreciate Solich more."

There's a real easy way to honor him....scrap one of these ridiculous FCS home games in the next two years and go play another money game at Lincoln.

A. We're not playing for National prominence. I think we're all pretty clear on that.
B. The MAC is terrible. We're going to win 6 games and be bowl eligible regardless of year.
C. Why not put another $600-$750k in the coffers against a B1G opponent?
D. Solich gets his real due and it's a great day for everyone.

It's a VERY simple ends to a mean.

Interesting idea, Love, and now that Pederson is gone, it could happen.

OCF, not all Nebraska fans have learned as much as you might think. There is a vocal minority that would like to fire Pelini for going 9-4. As an interesting side note, the last time Nebraska lost fewer than 4 games was the year Solich was fired.

Pederson has continued his "winning" coach hiring/firing ways at PITT. He's single-handidly turned the PITT football Head Coaching position into a national punchline. Solich more than deserves his due at Nebraska - he earned it.

We'll have another open slot once Temple leaves the MAC for the Big East, so we can keep the FCS game AND add Nebraska. Everyone wins!
