Good luck to them. I hope they play well, and attract some additional attention.

I remember Strum in the preseason TV feature, "relentless" where he made a really favorable impression on me. After dominating one of the freshmen, the freshman admitted that he obviously needed to get a lot better, and Strum didn't belittle him, but rather reassured him that he had nothing to worry about, and that it would all be good. I don't know if Strum or Keller will make it on Sundays, but they are two classy guys that deserve at least a shot at a free agent deal.

Appreciate all of the kind words.

The game has been moved to next Saturday 1/14/12 for some unexplained reason.

Both Strum and Keller are also represented by the same agent.  Bill Parise who is a fairly well known agent, most notably the agent for James Harrison from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I agree I hope others follow his lead in that regard.  Although none of them (Linemen!) will ever admit it, everyone needs encouragement to become all that they can be.  Antwan Crutcher was the guy and he will be good but is not seasoned.  Alot of younger talent that could develop into great players like AJ.

Update:  I am not sure what happened to this game it has either been cancelled or postponed, however both Noah and AJ have been invited to the Casino Del Sol All Star Game in Tucson Arizona on January 16 at 6:00 PM.  Fox sports will be covering this game.  I'm very excited and proud for both of them.

That is a good point. In every position in football, but especially on the offensive and defensive lines, it is really important for the veteran players to coach up the incoming players because in addition this helping the younger players to get better, it builds team camaraderie and makes for a closer-knit team. I overlooked that when I watched relentless, but little encouraging comments like that can go a long way.

That interaction was one of my two favorite scenes in the series.  He concluded that conversation with "All you need is Strum"...Classic!

My other favorite scene was Riley's pre-game wrap-up at NMSU...Gives me chills every time I watch it...

For those that get the Sports Pack on DirecTV, this is on channel 686. Strum was in with the first unit offense to start the game. Keller and Strum playing on different squads, haven't seen Strum try to block Keller yet.

I have it on channel 321 on Time Warner, however there is not much to report on.

  • Keller has been practically a non-factor and the only time they acknowledged him was when he jumped offside wiping out a fumble return for a touchdown.

  • Strum has done a pretty good job on the line, but offensive line stats just don't pop out on TV.  I know we keep track of pancakes here at OU, yet I'm not sure if they are kept as an official statistic elsewhere.

Rooting for Akron is like cheering on the Taliban.

Good to see our guys out there and on the winning side again. And A.J. holding up the Ohio helmet after the game. Have never seen a team try an onside kick after taking the lead in the last 30 seconds.
