RB depth

What is our depth like? Who is actually here? Is Dallas Brown still on the team? Did Fulcher go JUCO? At the end of the season we looked to be in good shape, just wondering how the off-season is shaking out.

Don't know anything about Fulcher but Dallas Brown is no longer on the roster at OhioBobcats.com.

what about Boykin? He seemed to disappear in the latter part of the year. Coach's doghouse? just Fell behind Blankenship?

It looks to me like the roster is a work in process, so I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from it. They have made some changes, like deleting Brown, Oglesbee and Ronnie Bell, but others, like Kyle Snyder that have rumored to have transferred are still there, as are the graduating Seniors. Also, a few players seem to have had their class status updated, but most haven't.

I also note that the new recruits for fall are now included, but with what appear to be a couple errors. I'd be really surprised if WR Chris Murray weighs in this fall at 5'10 245.

Also, I doubt Matt Waters will be a Freshman. Of other note, I don't see punter Grant Venham listed yet.

I was curious about Boykin as well. Fell off the map late in the season. Is he still here? If so Blankenship, Boykin bring some game experience and most likely Kyle Hammonds should be in the mix. Spring roster not all that far off.

Boykins is the front runner..if he can hang on to the football. Was in coaches dog house due to fumbles but he had a decent year considering Blankenship was the primary back up.

Blankenship is nipping at Boykins heels..must improve his inside running however.

Dallas Brown is gone for good. Transfered to d2 or d3 due to family issues.

David Fulcher is now in JUCO.

Look for Dazmond Patterson to spark the kick return game...eventually

Other than that the RB situation remains to be seen!

Is the plan for Fulcher to put one year in and come back? Or is he done at Ohio for good?

Sorry to hear about Dallas and David.

After watching Daz's highlights, I think he's the most exciting tailback I've seen us land (Wiz White predates online highlight films). Not to mention that he seems smart and motivated. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes 10-20% of the snaps this year while handling kickoff return duties.

Boykin and Blankenship and Patterson and Hammonds makes 4 RB's....not a lot of depth but remember we have a 1 back offense.....Ricky Pringle has also been on the team for a few years at RB....and if we have to use other position players at RB then so be it.....we used Dietz at TE last year and LB recruit Tim Edmond was one of the best if not the best running fullbacks in Ohio during his Cincy LaSalle high school days....check out his 70 yard int return for a TD from his lber position last year on his highlight video.
