Great publicity for Brazill. Here's what Kevin Weidl wrote about him.

Ohio WR Lavon Brazill
I like what Brazill (5-foot-10⅝, 192 pounds) brings as a route-runner. He can work outside or in the slot, tempos his routes well to get up defenders within his stem, and uses subtle head and shoulder fakes to create separation out of breaks. Brazill lacks elite suddenness, but he does show some burst out of his cuts and has impressive ability to read coverage and adjust on the fly. He also has quick enough feet to get a good release against press coverage.

Brazill also has solid hands and elite overall body control. He makes catches outside his frame look easy and tracks the ball naturally over his shoulder. His tape against Rutgers is particularly impressive, showing Brazill running a fade to the back left corner of the end zone, then opening up fully on a ball thrown behind him and snagging it with one hand while falling to the ground. Later in that game he did a nice job beating press coverage out of the slot and tracked a fade route nicely over his shoulder.

Finally, his toughness is outstanding. Brazill not only works the middle of the field and makes tough catches in traffic, but he plays hurt. Brazill suffered a torn meniscus in the MAC title game but showed the toughness to come back and play in the bowl game against Utah State, a game in which he caught the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Throw in his added value as a returner, and Brazill could offer great return on investment as early as the fifth round.

Except for the error about the game winning TD in the Tater Bowl (Tettleton ran for it), it's an accurate write-up.

Never forget that catch by Lavon at the goal line at the end.

That bigtime clutch beauty changed everything.

It sure felt like the game-winning catch ... fourth down ... but wasn't technically.

I was just hoping that he would get drafted ... fifth round? Sounds good to me. Hope he gets put in the right situation (drafted by a team that will likely keep him on the 53-man roster).

Not Brazill related but one of our most underrated WR's would be Dunlop, anybody have any ideas of what his chances of being an unsigned free agent are? With a lot of clutch catches he could make a General Manager look like a complete genius....

I will be shocked if Dunlop is not a UDFA...he can a 4.48 or so on pro day and his speed is the only concern. Has ELITE hands so I bet he will get a shot at NFL or CFL

Any chance the Browns would be interested in Brazill?  Or, are they too set at WR?  My son is a very big Brown's fan and it would be great to have an Ohio player on that team.

OhioCat, Ohio grad and Browns' beat writer Tony Grossi has your answer on Brazill...should the Browns consider getting him?

Grossi:  Why not? Few heard of Antonio Brown of Central Michigan three years ago and now he’s a key player in the Steelers’ offense. Brazill has similar physical dimensions. Somebody will give him a shot. Why not the Browns?

Thanks for the quote.  I hope someone in the Brown's head office is listening.

As a Browns fan, there's not a position that the Browns should be considered "set" at. That goes double for WR.

From the Thursday edition of the Orange & Brown Report (a publication/website devoted to Browns fans):

"Wide Receivers

While not visiting with the Browns, the organization has looked at wide receivers’ Ryan Broyles of Oklahoma and LaVon Brazill of Ohio University at length."

I Listened to Mel Kiper and Todd McShay's podcast today. They had a segment talking about late round sleepers.

One of the guests they had on brought up Brazill as his favorite sleeper. Said he had one of the best one handed catches of the season and that he is a great playmaker. Could go as high as the 5th round.

Kevin Weidl (also mentioned above) is McShay's partner at ESPN Draft.  Based out of Charlotte.  Was just on the radio and brought up Brazill as a 4-6 round pick that will produce.  Thinks he would be a good mid-round pick for the Panthers.  Very high on him.
