Pretty Confident Donte Foster has the potential to be OUr #1 receiver. Not the RAC guy that Brazill was by any means but an exceptional athlete. My question is who else will step in and contribute?
I can see Mario Dovell as a slot type guy but who starts opposite Foster and is a factor? Pulling for Bakari Bussey, he has been ready to break out for a while but really hasn't developed into a consistent player buried behind some other players.

Foster and Dovell should work out OK......Futrell and Waters could surprise....L. Smith OK for a while last year then disappeared...N'gOUmOU has the best big play potential with his size and speed.....Bussey and Cochran have the potential but yet to show it on the field....look out for true freshman Chris Murray.

I think this is going to be the Year of the Tight End. T^2 started looking for them more at the end of last year in the clutch. Keep that going, then play match-up games with the WRs. Get the speedy guys in single coverage on the outside, audible to a go route, score 6. Repeat.

I don't think any one receiver needs to be the go-to guy. Tettleton can dish it around, including to the TEs, and that would be fine. I think the Juco transfer, Waters will find a role. I also think that WR is a place where it is very possible that we may see a true freshmen find a spot. That could be Rodriguez, Reid, or Murry, and I'm leaning to Murray being one that comes in and works into the rotation.

As C. Money pointed out, TE is going to be a very, very strong position for the Bobcats. Thompson and Robak return, plus Hill and Knight. Then there are two very good TE recruits, Tanner and Roberts, who I hope they redshirt. Only Thompson and Knight are upperclassmen, so TE is set for years.

The key for me is that I think Ohio has the best WR coach in the country. I have little doubt DIxon will line up guys that are ready to play. I want to point out that he's also a class act. At some schools, kids of a coach almost automatically get a scholarship. Not so at Ohio, where Ian Dixon is a walkon. I'm hoping that in the end he turns out to be a good one, and that he ends up proving that he deserves a scholarship.

This is a group with a lot of potential, but it's all pretty much up in the air at this point. Dovell, Futrell, Smith, Bussey, Cochran, Foster, Waters, Stephane,....thats a lot of dudes that can't redshirt and yet only Foster is a sure bet. Here's my depth chart guess when they line up to start the season...


WR1
   Foster
   Bussey
   Futrell
WR2
   Dovell
   N'gomou (sp?)
   Cochran
Slot
   Smith
   Waters

RS - Murray, Rodriguez

I'm looking for T2 to be a little less effective throwing to the WRs this year.  Brazill's athleticism made T2 look better than maybe he really is throwing downfield.  LaVon made tons of diving and one-handed grabs in key situations last season.  I'm not sure anyone on the roster can make up for that.  I think T2 may have to do more of what Boo Jackson and Theo Scott were noted for -- drawing DBs toward the line by scrambling to get the WRs more open, then passing when he gets a yard or two behind the line.

The key will be how well the two new OTs play.  Were I the OC I would know their strengths and play to them.  Hopefully they are good enough the TEs can be free to attack instead of defend.  I see the WRs stepping up by blocking down the field.  My perspective is any block by a WR that helps advance the ball carrier is equal to a first down catch.

See Donte Fosters catch that didn't count against Marshall due to a holding penalty. That was some serious sh**.

Coach Dixon.  Some six weeks of practice against solid defensive backs (how often do the ones go against the ones).  Receiver will be acceptable at worst, with reasonable potential for quite good.
