Not trying to be a smart A but if you know that much already then maybe we should be asking you.

Arkley had reported that Clark to JUCO was a possibility:  http://www.athensohiotoday.com/blogs/bobcat_blog/spring-r...

I am sure the Ohio staff is still working an alternative.  Stand bye for future updates.

We were already stacked at the TE position, no loss especially since he did not play last year.
Overall I am much more confident about the overall quality of our players 2 deep than I was 3 - 4 years ago.
I don't see this as any big deal.

That Clark graduated I believe.  This Clark (trae) is a DT.

.....Ohio will do what is right for these kids, and make sure they are placed in a good Juco. Hopefully they can establish eligibility there, and redshirt one, and play one, and return with three years to play 3.

Edit - erroneous part of post deleted....

I'm a little surprised at Murray because QB's normally are pretty good students, which isn't surprising since to be good, they have to be the field general. LC not in mid season form. Murray is a WR.

It would appear that many of us don't know the positions of two of our top recruits! This is quite disconcerting.

I thought Clark was Monroe's 350 pound road grader fullback?

But seriously folks....Murray hurts since he was good enough to  be offered by teams like Kansas......hopefully they both can return to the Cats like some non-qualifiers have in the past after good juco runs.

Indeed - I confused him with Windham, who he was sort of a package deal with. I have a lot going on at the moment, and haven't been double checking things in my database, so I apologize for my recent errors.

As far as Clark and Murray being the top two recruits, I guess it depends on who you believe. ESPN had the top recruits as Schany, Roberts, and Windham. Scout has Clark and Sebastian Smith. Rivals calls it Sebastian Smith, then Clark and Murray. 247 Sports calls it Sebastian Smith and Clark. Certainly they were both very, very good recruits, and they will be missed, if they can't clear eligibility, but even without them it will still be a very good class.

If this is the way it ends up, it will also mean some money available to a deserving walkon or two this fall. Something is always happening, it seems, to free up a little money that can be given to them, which isn't all bad.

Trae Clark is not a surprise. Academic issues were discussed when he was being recruited. I think he picked Ohio in part because the MAC allows non-qualifying players to sign. I think realistically he was by far the top recruit in the Bobcats class based on the number of offers he had from major schools. Hopefully he still ends up at Ohio in a year or two, if not this year.

Sebastian Smith will be the enigma.

Will he qualify?

Will he play DB or WR?

Stay tuned.
