Penn State Goes Into Damage Control

Hey, at least they called us OHIO.

It's starting to get jarring seeing Ohio named in all these articles, even though they don't say anything about us.

It's worth pointing out this small sections, that answers some questions asked on another thread:
New York Times wrote:

NCAA rules prohibit coaches from other schools reaching out directly to players currently enrolled at Penn State. But they can go the indirect route, reaching out to someone current Nittany Lions trust.

"I bet the phones lines are buzzing with those high school coaches," said Neuheisel, who now works as an analyst for the Pac-12 Network.

Realistically, what's going to hurt Penn State about these sanctions is about four or five years from now. Say they sign 25 players this year (the 15 rule starts with the Class of 2014) to replace 22 seniors and six or seven defectors as best they can. Down the road, they'll be at 65 scholarships and lose a bunch of seniors. But they'll only be able to sign 15 to replace the letermen, so they might be at 50 or so for a year near the end of the sanctions. Then when they lose 15 seniors, they'll be able to replace them plus 10 more. So it might take three years after the sanctions end just to get to 85 again if the rules stay the same.
