Remember when it was Can't Read, Can't Write, Can't State. Well, friends, our MAC brethren at Kent are off the hot seat:

But they make up for their Gray-matter shortcomings by arrogantly refusing to add S-T-T-A-E. This shot at Columbus Tech was posted at Facebook by a Michigander named Gavin Bowersox (hence the Michigan reference).

The only thing that is a fact is that nothing is a fact.
If this statement is true, it is also false.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around why tOSU finds Brady calling them by our name an insult, and yet they use the "OH"-"IO" and the four person, YMCA-esque spelling of our name as a badge of honor.  President McDavis recently related a story about seeing Gordon Geek at a meeting where the Geek was wearing an "OH-" pin on his lapel that Rod had noticed.  The Geek says to him something along the lines of "I see you noticed my pin", and Rod say back, "why yes, it only says "OH-" because we own OHIO."

The Few, The Proud, The Bobcats!

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

"This isn't just another walkover from the MAC." Kirk Herbstreit, another DB, on College Football Gameday

its amazing what playing, and beating, Michigan has done to further the conversation. Use of the word Ohio without the "U" is at an all time high in articles from ESPN all the way down to random blogs.

I still think we should force the issue by stealing their OH-IO cheers. Just for the sake of watching them try to argue the justification of it.

With all due respect to your main point, please don't bring that OH - s%!# within earshot.  It hurts my brain and makes me do things I wouldn't otherwise imagine of myself.

Might not be a bad idea.  While they are playing on BTN and Ohio is on ESPN just put the cheer up in Green.  They may be bigger but once green and white is associated with Ohio they may go back to using State more often.

The picture reminds me of an old joke about a girl whose boyfriend went to a B10 school and liked to make love with his school sweater on.  Won't go any further with it, 'cause I'm sure you all know it.

As for "stealing" OH-IO, 25,000 in Peden doesn't have the same effect as 100,000 in the Shoe.  It'll look cheap.

I agree its a crap cheer and it would look cheap but the point is to own everything "ohio" related.  If we rebuild Peden I say we rename it  either Ohio Stadium, Ohio's State Stadium, or the Horseshoe.

at every opportunity, no matter how small, make them publicly defend their usage of our name. thanks to Michigan they've been backed into a corner, I say we keep poking them with a stick.

I listen to the ESPN Podcast, Fantasy Focus Baseball and there was quite the ragging on tOSU the other day about how they insist on including the "the". Some student emailed them and said he was from the Ohio State. This went on for two days. Pretty great stuff.

If you want to spread the gospel on a grass roots level, look no further than this shirt I bought on eBay. I wore it on a recent Saturday in central Ohio and it got a lot of looks. Sometimes I swore I could see a look of puzzlement and then understanding as though the light bulb finally came on (sometimes followed by a smile, sometimes followed by a look of annoyance!).  I really hope one of the bookstores in Athens is selling these.

You can buy this shirt in Athens

You know what Frank Solich likes most about coaching in the MAC? While he gets older, his coaching competition stays the same age, man.

Where is it sold in Athens? I don't see it on the College Bookstore website. I'd actually consider buying a second one since I think I might end up wearing this one away until it's threadbare! : )

I remember seeing it in the window of Follett's during Spring quarter. They probably still have them there.

It's the store right next to the little professor, I just can't remember the name to save my life. It's diagonal from college book store and has school books in the basement. I'm 100% sure I bought it from there less than 6 months ago, still have it.
