Need some advice

Sooooo, by virtue of being invited to a large golf outing Monday, I may have the opportunity to meet Urban Meyer face to face, one on one, for as long as it takes to have a picture taken, anyway.

I feel the need to use the opportunity to put a bug in his ear about OHIO. If I assume I'll get about a dozen words tops, my choices so far are.

Coach, will you please make sure that those Michigan guys know your little school's name?

Coach, you would do well to continue to schedule Ohio MAC teams at least one a year, especially Ohio.

Coach, you need to play Ohio at a neutral, in state site and soon.

Coach, do you know where I can get a cheap tattoo? (I know it has nothing to do with Ohio but I like it?

Any more suggestions?

I know it's unpopular to be on the side of Ohio State on this board, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend and right now, Michigan is at the top of my anger list with the way they're misusing our name. Thus, I would go with the point of telling Michigan to find out his school's name. Something along those lines. The tattoo thing might be humorous to you (and me), but it'll earn you no good will or respect in that environment.

I agree with Finn, bringing up tattoo-gate will just make you seem like a dick, especially since it wasn't his scandal. I like either asking him to teach michigan who is OHIO and who is STATE or pushing for Ohio's First & Finest to play Ohio's biggest.

If they won't give that kind of schedule to Cincinnati, who is arguably a stronger football program than we are, there's not a chance in the world OHIO will ever get that game. The fact is, Ohio A&M are chickens when it comes to scheduling road games with in state opponents. They'll argue about the money factor, but they also won't do it in basketball, where the money is less of an issue. I call it being afraid to lose to other in state schools.

Why not wear a bobcat shirt or cap and see if you get a response from UM? You should definitely act unimpressed.

They played Toledo in Cleveland in 2009. It was a "home" and home series, where Toledo was the home team in Cleveland and therefore controlled 58,000 tickets compared to State's 12,500. Toledo only sold their tickets to season ticket holders or donors, so a lot of State fans paid an extra $100 to Toledo for season tickets or a donation, just for the opportunity to buy tickets for the Cleveland game. When Toledo played in Columbus last season (and almost pulled off the upset), they didn't get a payout.

It was actually a win-win situation. Toledo got more money than they would have from a normal home game + a pay game at State. State got an extra de facto home game, giving them 8 for that season. Plus, they didn't have to pay Toledo anything for that scare last season.

Even though I'm an OU and paw guy I would certainly wear some sort of OHIO clothing. There will be a ton of OSU wantabees there decked out in scarlet and gray. Wear the green and white with pride.

My son is a classmate and good buddy with his son. Mine often sports the Green and White but we are pretty much an after thought to them. Your not going to convince a former SEC and current Big Ten coach that MAC football is worthy. Even if they did get their first big break there. Former MAC coach 8-3 Earl has often disrespected the MAC vs. OSU in the media. It seems they all do once they move up.

I agee - wear your green and white with pride, and behave maturely. Let it do the talking, and in the end, hopefully leave him, and other Buckeye fans with a favoriable impression of Ohio.

I generally like Urban Meyer. My secretary's son played for him at Bowling Green so I have a little different perspective of him than what is reported in the media. Their family absolutely loves him and there have been several times I have been impressed with his actions behind the scenes. I would simply wish him well running a program that their alumni can be proud of. I'm quite sure he does not care about the OU/OSU rivalry that only us Bobcat fans seem to care about.

You should wear an Ohio ballcap and a t-shirt with the Attach Cat logo and the words "The real Ohio". and asay "Glad to meet you!)"

Thanks, guys. You mirror my thoughts on the dress code. If I get that shot. I'll be sure to share it.

Glad to see that nastiness hasn't overtaken our fan base, too. My friends would be shocked to hear me bring up tattoo-gate except when I'm alone with them, of course.
