They claim "this game may not draw notional headlines" <-- False (Dwight Schrute Voice). The Ohio Bobcats are wearing an eyepatch and the Nittany Lions are wearing a cast. The world will be watching this on ESPN, or BizCat is a little optimistic.

You know what Frank Solich likes most about coaching in the MAC? While he gets older, his coaching competition stays the same age, man.

Not familiar with Derek Piper but apparently he's been piloting Curiosity to Mars this spring.  This game will draw HUGE national attention, mostly because of the travails at PSU but also because both teams have been getting preseason recognition in the various previews.  Gameday will likely be at JerryWorld (ABC has Mich-Bama from Arlington, Tx as the prime time game that night) but you can bet the house that they'll have plenty of live and taped features from Unhappy Valley.  Even though some would minimize an Ohio victory because of the distractions and defections, this would be signature win for the Cats.

That's what the author is saying. He ranks it among the 5 best OOC games for the Big Tendozen, not just for the first week, but for the entire season.

I was taking exception with his statement that it may not draw national headlines.  This'll be lead story for most sportscasts the night of Sept. 1 and front page on nearly every sports section in the country on Sept. 2.  Unless they go undefeated, Penn St will be an afterthought the rest of the season.  But the significance of this game will bring national headlines.
