Stay tuned.  As soon as I can get his photo uploaded, you guys will really have something to talk about.  Not trying to tease, I just can't seem to get it loaded so I am sending it to Ryan to place in this post.   Took this photo in a bar/restaurant/club in the Mansfield area.  About fell off my feet when I saw it.   Will be sending a copy to the Convo in a few minutes.  Unbelievable!

Glad to see that we've upgraded our schedule for 2012.  Think we could sneak a game in with Ohio State to replace the October hole when PSU cancels its football season?

That needs to be taken down!  Where do we start?...that's an obvious violation of Ohio Universitiy's trademark rights.

OUtrageOU$..

How much will this cost the local distributor of BUD as he is stabbed in the back by this reach by BUD to appear to be the brand of choice for Buckeye drinkers throughout the state?

Number one party school dissed by BUD?  Make em pay for the Buckeye Love!

If OHIO Athletics really wants to be nationally prominent, protecting OUr trademarked name is just as important as winning.

I'll be emailing and calling the department as soon as they open tomorrow. If I get a better or more direct line of communication I'll let the BA board know.

The marketing and branding communications number: 740.593.2200

I would agree - If this doesn't come down Monday, they should hear from an attorney. Hopefully they can settle it amicably. I think that a fair settlement would be for Budweiser to agree to put up billboards showing the real "Ohio Football Schedule". They could look about the same, but in Green, of course.

BC - as I mentioned in the original post, the photo has already been sent to the department.  They'll take it from here I'm sure.

It wouldn't be InBev but the individual distributor responsible for that.

No doubt it was, but whoever it was should have been more careful. The billboard would look a lot nicer in Green, anyway.

This wasn't a billboard but a printed poster which probably means there are copies of this everywhere.

and notice how they leave the (OH) off of Miami, that's not out of respect to Fiami, that's to let people think its the U and that their schedule is tougher than it really is. pathetic on so many levels.

In that case a recall seems in order, but not really sufficient. I hate to suggest a cash settlement as you don't want to anger a potential future sponsor, so, maybe in addition to the recall, they should have to also supply some Ohio posters?

Alan, since you've sent this on to the AD, can you please keep us updated on what exactly Ohio's response is to this clear violation of our copyright.  I would think the first thing would be friendly persuasion, and if that doesn't work, a call from the legal affairs office.

Here's how we should play it-

The AD's office should call the distributor and let them know that we've discovered a Bud poster featuring OUr 2012 football schedule but all of the teams listed are wrong. Don't mention it being A&M's. The distributor will tell the AD's office that they'll look into and call them back. Now the escalation at the distributor becomes "hey, we messed up the OU poster and they want it fixed." That will trigger an internal dialog with their people of "which OU poster was it? I don't remember doing one for them. We did one for A&M though. Here it is. See it says right here- Ohio...ohhh. uh-oh."

that puts the distributor in the position of having to call the AD's office back to confess that they put our name on a Suckeye schedule. we now have more leverage than if we just called and yelled for leaving off the word State. And then maybe they'll want to make things right with the #1 party school in the country.

Just saw one of these gems hanging in the Wooster BW3 Saturday night... time to go raise some hell with the Budweiser distributor in Mansfield!  (It's right on 30 between Mansfield and Ontario)

The sad thing is they were probably looking to dodge paying royalties to ToSU and dug themselves a larger hole in the process.
