No real surprises on the media guide depth chart at ohiobobcats.com except at middle linebacker.  Keith Moore has recently been suggested as the heir apparent to Keller...with names like juco Edmonds and redshirt freshman Russell....but sophomore Stefanksi was pretty much ignored.

The only problem with that is that on the media guide depth chart Stefanski is  listed as the #1 mlb for Keller's job.  I'm not saying he's Keller but his weight for most rosters has been 215....the media guide sez 236.  He's a former wrestler....and maybe not as quick as Keller but he'll still knock you out......Mooore at 216 is an excellent outside linebacker.

My bad....Stepanski.....but he looked decent at the fall scrimmage when he was a true freshman.

We'll see where things are in a month. There are a lot of guys in the running, and the pecking order at that position could change a lot between now and Penn State.

I thought Stefanski had a really strong spring last year and he would certainly be in the mix this season. Too early to tell. My biggest concern right now is seeing Arkley's Blog that Carrie left practice yesterday with a shoulder injury.

Not sure about depth chart, roster and depth chart differ on weight, more than I would expect and spelling is Stepanski.  Depth Chart in PSU game notes will be much different from media guide.

I was pleasantly surprised to read in the media guide just how close we are to pushing our all-time football record into the winning side.

It says we are 515-523-48.  While this may not seem like something to get excited about, considering our less than stellar programs through the years we can conceivably finish this year with an overall winning record as a program.  By the time Frank decides to hang up the whistle and headset we should be comfortably on the right side of things in that regard.

Just some off season food for thought.....

Not sure if he was in the media guide but suprised to see a Cally linebacker on the roster......6'-220 pound Blair Brown from Ranche Verde HS who had some Big 10 looks.....Ranche Verde was one of the top teams in their leagie last year.

We're really doin a decent stockpiling of 220 pound extra quick outside linebackers....and this is the second Cally guy in the last 2 years.

Everything I have found on Brown has him listed as an FAU commit. Interesting.

One surprise I found is on page 88.  Temple is in bold type, which according to the note at the bottom of the page indicates they are a 2012 opponent.

Here's another surprise....the media guide and the spring and fall roster all say Stefanski....oh well who cares.

I'm getting excited about the addition of Blair Brown to the roster.  He and fellow Cally OLB Johnson are missiles....and the Keller like Schany of Nebraska at MLB make a potent trio if they stay together.....yes I said Keller like for Schany.....Arkley sez all 3 stood out in the scrimmage today.

According to Arkley, Travis Carrie could be out for an extended period of time or the rest of the season depending on further evaluation of his shoulder.  We really need his skill and leadership on the field.

Well, if he does miss, he may be able to get a sixth year, and perhaps work towards a graduate degree, but i hope the injury isn't that bad.
