Honestly, I think we'd have a better chance of winning if none of the off-field stuff happened and good ol' Paternoing-a-Blind-Eye was on the sidelines (or in coordinators' booth). The Bobcat is out of the bag - everyone knows that this could be one special season for Ohio. It starts today. Team? Check. Steam? Check. May this really be ol' Ohio's (finest) day!!!! I don't endorse the furry lifestyle, but when the Bobkitten is involved things can change mighty quickly... But I was struck by something I heard on ESPN -- this is the biggest win in recent program history. I felt like the win vs. Pitt on ESPN was the biggest win in recent times. Solich's home debut, first national TV appearance in a generation, night game at Peden, dramatic win...just felt like that was the beginning of a whole new era of success for Ohio Football. This win doesn't seem like an upset to me now. I expected Ohio to win. Thoughts? Back to Top Pataskala General User Member Since: 7/8/2010 Location: At least six feet away from anybody else Post Count: 9,365 Status: Offline     RE: What We've Been Waiting For    Posted: 9/1/2012 5:48:07 PM  The Pitt win had long-term effects for the program.  A lot of players found out about Ohio because of that win, mostly because it was in prime time, the only game on during its time slot and the crowd was electric.  Today's win may be bigger because it was on the road against a storied program in front of 90,000+ hostile fans.  Even though Penn St may not the caliber team it once was, a win over them is still huge; it's like beating ND even in an off year for them.  Plus, we knew that the 2005 team would not be a contender (although they ultimately were in the race until November); today's win could be a springboard to a phenomenal season.  If the Cats ultimately win the MAC and become nationally ranked this season, it may well be the biggest win so far this millennium.
