Seems Mr Belton must have also bumped his head before hurting his ankle.  Here's his statement after the game....

"Obviously, we were the better team," Belton said. He gave Ohio credit for the victory but that wasn't what he felt in his heart. "They got their confidence up. We play this game on another day, 10 times out of 10 we're beating this team."

Are you kidding me?  Talk about a sore loser.  When you just got your ass handed to you on your home field, and you were one of the guys who coughed up a fumble, you do not spout off like that.  I would hope O'Brien has a few words with him over this.

Apparently he doesn't understand what "obviously" means.

Mr. Belton was not in the trenches. Had he played on either line for PSU in the 2nd half he would not be running off at the ............

someone should probably let him know that they still would have lost if he was the 2nd string running back... He probably feels like everyone assumes they lost due to transfers, doesn't want that to be the reason...

maybe they should come to Peden to find out if they can beat us again.

Thanks again for the check for 850k and the W

It was so much more than the scoreboard though.  Ohio outgained Penn State by nearly 300 yards the last three quarters and they did it by going right at the supposed strength of the Nittany Lions.  We didn't even play particularly well and it could have been worse.

I rewatched the game yesterday.  When watching it live, I was frustrated with our gameplan out of the gate.  We were very conservative on both sides of the ball, much different than how it played out in the second half.  However, with hindsight being what it is, I saw the genius of the conservative gameplan in the first quarter.  All week, Frank talked about the emotions at the beginning, and the feeling that he felt that once the emotions wore off and the game became just about football, he liked the chances.

With that, I would "obviously" disagree that they would win 10 out of 10 times.  I was frightened when I saw the unity of PSU at the beginning of the game.  Their success appeared to be solely out of emotion, not more talent.  I think that, on a neutral field, without the significant emotion, we would win the majority of the contests.  Once Frank's group outlasted the emotional start, they dominated.  The gameplan adjusted, the team adjusted.

If you lose the first game, how do you win 10 out of 10?

The first one was just practice, it doesn't count.

Maybe they needed more time to prepare, like two off seasons.

Maybe they needed a more emotionally charged crowd.

Maybe they needed more fans in the stadium.

Maybe they needed to give us more film to study.

Maybe they needed more favorable officials.

Maybe they needed less injuries in their secondary going in to the game.

Maybe they needed...

Well it's obvious from that comment, that he didn't take Ohio seriously, and still doesn't. Denial.

Hey, just dropping in to say Congrats on your big win on Saturday, and I also wanted to say thank you for beating them, from the bottom of my heart. Ohio will be interesting to watch this year.

I also noticed, watching the replay of the game on ESPN3, that when Penn State was on offense, they talked about Penn State.  When Ohio was on offense, they talked about Penn State.

They deserved to lose.

Thanks -- and tough loss for your team.  I really thought we were going to get two B1G upsets Saturday.

It wasn't til the 2nd half that the ESPN crew realized it wasn't the Penn St spring game.  They finally moved Rinaldi to the Ohio sideline in the 4th Q, when it became apparent that's where the winning team was going to be.

I was pulling for you guys, BG and Toledo, too.  The late comeback by Iowa really bit the big one.  Would've been nice to have the MAC come up with three or four wins vs. AQ schools this weekend.  Go git Tenn-Martin next week.

Kinda sounds like the RB who said "they don't hit hard" to his teammates. This, after getting his helmet taken off and then hit in the head again and having to get stitched up.

Stuff like this isn't worth worrying about. It's best to just let it go, and worry about NMSU, and try to make sure we don't end up in a ditch.

The only people this should worry is Penn State people. If he really thinks Penn State was the better team on Saturday, then it's going to be a LONG season for Penn State. Anybody who watched that game(mnus the Penn State fans in denial) knew Ohio dominated that game for almost 3 quarters.

Quite right.  Likely Mr. Belton was led to this by a question from the media.  He/ they would be better served by putting all their attention toward Virginia as you are attempting to keep ours toward NMSU.  Thanks. L.C.

As a fan I have no problem worrying about every little perceived slight on the internet and focusing on NM State.  My multitasking will have no effect on the game.  It's a message board and stuff like Bolton's comments is perfect message board fodder.

If you are "obviously" the better team, and lose by such a margin, then doesn't that mean the coaching sucked hind tit?  I'm just saying.  Or maybe they just don't have the class to recognize getting beaten by a good football team.  What an ass.

Ha!

Looking at that last picture, the numbers say 14>24.  Is that supposed to be ironic considering the quote?
