WVU VS Baylor|: pulling for WVU to drop Baylor out of top 25.

OSU at Michigan State: it pains me to actually root for OSU but they are now bowl threat it may help Ohio to see 20th ranked Sparty go gown.

Louisville at Southern Miss. Would Love so see USM take down 19th ranked Louisville!

Penn State @ Illinios. Want Penn St to win. PERIOD!

Marshall at Purdue. My mind tells me to root for Marshall but my heart say hell no and is rooting for Purdue.

Wisconsin at 22 Nebraska. Bucky Badger win will help Ohio crack top 25!

La Tech at Virgiinia! Let's go Wahoos!

What other games impact Ohio tomorrow?

Actually, all the games he mentioned would matter in the grand scheme of things.  People are going to talk about being top 25 whether the one-game-at-a-timers like it or not.

Indiana win over Northwestern would help
Colorado win over UCLA would help
Both are very unlikely...

Va Tech vs Cincy - I think is a toss up - both losses would help

I think Louisville will lose this season, but were I a betting man, I'd bet on them to beat Southern Miss. In all, there are 15 games pairing undefeated with undefeated, undefeated with one-loss, or one-loss with one-loss. If we win, these 15 losses WILL help us with the voters. I don't know if we'll crack the 25-line or not this week, but it'll be close.

Undefeated vs. Undefeated: Baylor vs. WVU, Iowa State vs. Texas Tech.

Undefeated vs. one-loss: Texas vs. Oklahoma State, Cincinnati vs. Virginia Tech, Northwestern vs. Indiana, Ohio State vs. Michigan State, Oregon State vs. Arizona, Alabama vs. Mississippi, Georgia vs. Tennessee

One-loss vs. one-loss: NC State vs. Miami, Duke vs. Wake Forest, Nebraska vs. Wisconsin, Northern Illinois vs. Central Michigan, Ball State vs. Kent State, Nevada vs. Texas State (transition team)

Wins by our conference foes in general against non-conference teams of similar or better caliber help us. Having a stronger perception among national media about the MAC as a whole helps us as we win conference games. They won't be viewed as weak wins. And that should help us garner votes to get ranked and progessively move up the polls.

It's 3:43, and the one game that's most important is ... UMass 7, Bobcats 0!

It's 4:05, and the one game that's really important is ... UMass 10, Bobcats 3!

Wow -- it must have been all that BCS bowl talk that we've been doing on these boards that did it. If we squeak this one with a W we should NOT make that mistake in the future.

We have started slow every game this season against D1 opponents...im not worried for today but we have to figure oit how to avoid these bad starts...they will bite us eventually.

It's now the second half and we've given up 24 points to the worst team in D1.  BCS talk is an insult to actual BCS contenders.

Any poll talk after this for weeks, many weeks, is ridiculous

Yes, any poll talk after this week until a solid string of wins is silly.  No, talking about making the BCS didn't cause this problem.  I will never understand this mentality.

Agree completely. Were 5-0. Were going to win every game and the Orange bowl against cincinnati. If we dont do that because I posted on Bobcatattack, ill give my diploma back and buy a Ben Roethlisberger miami jersey. As my guy Herm Edwards says, you play to win the games. 5-0. Now im off to some OSU campus bars in my green and white to celebrate.

No - the talk did not "cause" the problem - it ignored what our very obvious problem has been all year - Very Weak D Backs/Passing D. The "mentality" is that this is a serious weakness - and will eventually result in potentially SEVERAL losses - against teams no where close to being ranked - so where is the rational logic for the votes vs the field of other top 30 to 40 programs let alone top 25?

I think the majority of the teams on the balance of our schedule are not intimidated at all right now - they're licking their chops.

Solich has a real test over the next couple weeks. If he can get this fixed it will be a major accomplishment. And would not surprise me if he does - early/mid season adjustments are what every great coach/team does well. Get it fixed, and keep winning, then after about 8 wins w/no losses then we are serious contenders for top 25.

OK, I get what you're saying.  I really do.  But it does not change the fact that I believe our team could be a BCS buster.  I'm not ignoring anything.  Rather than being a completely 100% realist fan, I choose to be 100% optimist.  The way you make it sound, we're all stupid for believing we can make the BCS because we don't understand our teams strengths and weaknesses.  I assure you, I do, and I'm cheering every week for our boys to correct those mistakes.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BCS TALK.  Yes, right now, it's silly to talk about it because we obviously played an awful game.  But in four weeks, when we're undefeated and suddenly the floor drops out from a few of the other undefeated and one-loss guys?  It may come up again.  And when it does, I'm going to be all over it.

And I won't call you crazy for being a realist, just please don't assume that I don't understand the implications of the way these games pan out.

EDIT: OK, I reread that, and I promise I'm not trying to pick fights or anything.  I am just of the opinion that we shouldn't be trying to talk our village optimists down from the clouds because some don't want to think like that.
