It's 2012, there shouldn't be black bars on the sides of my TV. Just an infrastructure thing, and our game isn't high enough priority. The games so far this year on ESPN3 exclusively have all been produced in what is called anamorphic widescreen SD, similar to how widescreen DVDs are encoded. It travels through the system "squished" into a 4:3 box and gets stretched back out on the other end. This game, as it is being produced in true HD, when it goes through the SD lines, it gets center-cut.
